Marvel Vs Capcom 3

It's great, like ST. 2-3 combo's (without 4/5 meters) = dead character.

Games take FAR too long on SSFIV, this is a very welcome change.

Hmm. I've only seen a few videos of him, but he does seem to be a bit weaker... but still, from what I've read, he's still the best.

Then again, I suppose it's to early to really make judgements on that yet.

The only thing I don't like about MVC3 is that the HP goes down too fast on normal life settings... it's insane.

I wouldn't worry about things like that in this day and age what with patches. Tweaks on character's attacks etc are easy to implement and no doubt the devs will do just that now its getting some serious play testing from fans.

In X-Factor every single character can do a Touch of Death combo.

My team is Wolverine, Storm/Zero/Dante and Sentinel.

Wolverine for the 500K no meter hit confirm combo's from a low, 50/50 mixups, unblockables and meter building, middle member for zoning/meter burning for damage, and Sent for the the assist and comeback factor.

Tempted to try taskmaster as my middle member for his mental unblockable and all round performance.

You likely to be on tonight or tomorrow?

I've been going with either x-23, Dante and Akuma(or sentinal)

Also just won my first online ranked game so something is clearly wrong with my copy.

i can believe how much thought you put in your team building. i just pick whoever that looks cool. i wish jin is in this game, but he isnt, or is he fellas?

I'm working in Belfast during the week days (but have my 360 with me), so no internet.

I will be back tomorrow at about 1800 though.

hyv, if you just pick 3 average characters you'll get smashed. You need a battery, a meter burner and an assist. Or a point who doesn't need meter, a second character with decent meter damage and an assist, or 2 batteries and phoenix.

Bevy, people online will be complete idiots at this for many months. Most people are coming from SFIV (often where it was their only FG) and will have no clue what they are doing.

got my shopto copy

Mine just got delivered too :D

Got my copy today, just nipped home to have a quick blast on my lunch hour! Seems awesome from the 15 mins I've spent with it so far. Default control method seems a little awkward though, think i'll be changing that tonight.

Whats everybody elses opinions of it so far? Add me on live if you fancy a fight!

lol so have i, i also played mvc1 and xmen v street fighter against the ai

My copy is here! Although I've got some work to do so trying to be good and leave it alone for a couple of hours.

The comic looked epic when I unpacked it, but the actual comic is only 11 pages of that book :(

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I'm still waiting for my copy to come! it was dispatched yesterday and I'm still waiting for it from shopto!

i told you, i am picking iron man, morrigan, possibly one of akuma, chun li or viper. i dont know which is which role though.

old school sf knowledge is enough anyway

Chun has the best assist in the game, stick her on slot 3.

Iron man is a great meter burner so put him on second.

Viper is a great point character but requires some talent to use, akuma is easy for me to get around and morrigan should be ok as point.

lol my team sorted itself then. cant wait to get home from work and kick some backside

Yeah to be honest, some of the terminology in this thread has my head spinning!
Assist .. burner .. wtf lol

Assist = character assist, where you call in one of your team temporarily to do a special move without swapping characters.

Meter burner = a character designed to utilise a lot of meter to do damage and perform well. They're generally a lot worse without meter. A battery is the opposite, and is used to build meter.

Thanks! Thread makes more sense now :D

I'm thinking I might have Wesker/Dante/Storm
Dante's jam session seems like a good assist, a bit like Cyclops/CapCom from MvC2 to just split the screen in half. He also seems good when he's on point too, a really good second?
Wesker seems to do really good damage without need for his super, thinking he would be able to build a lot of super.
Storms hailstom super seems as good as ever and a nice way to just chip them out when they're low on health.

This is all well and good in theory but it's not like I can test it. :(

Dante is fantastic across the board. Great with and decent without meter, and a half decent assist.

Storm and wesker overlap a lot, but it could still work as storm has a good assist again. You do have 3 meter burning characters though and no rushdown outside of teleport mixups.

From what I've seen Wesker can do a lot without meter, but if things don't go to plan he is able to use it up. I also really want storm to just get that free chip/DHC if I mess up.
I think I would want to switch out Dante if anybody.

Need to readd some of you now, will send some requests in a bit.

I'm rocking Wesker, Chun and Magneto at the moment, Sentinel is completely bonkers, one braindead combo will kill anybody with average health.

Not sure what to do with my assists though, Dante has a great one I can use with Wesker after knocking them on the ground, Chun has a really good one for pressure but Magnetos seem a bit lackluster
