Marvel Vs Capcom 3

I got it today, very cool, I just started mashing in training and pulled off weird combos, very easy to play, I'm going with ryu, zero and dormammu, no idea if they work together tho

Why? Anti sent characters really help balance it out. Would you just rather have another sahara fighter 4 with new characters?

No, it's poor that a character is that much better than the others.

Marn, Justin Wong, Clorkw0rk and others all have said that he's basically a level above the others.

He does more damage, has the most health, a stupidly good assist, simple and damaging combos.

Non xfactor, I saw a video of him killing morrigan in a simple combo...

And it wasn't as though they were "anti sent" characters, more like Wong trying to find ways to counter the character with characters he uses. :p

Nah. There are lots of players who reckon Sent is good but not top, and the basis of fighting games is paper, scissors, rock so it's a bit daft to say the fact that counter teams are being sought is a bad thing. People like to whinge a lot at early characters they struggle against. Happens in every fighting game.

Anyway, if you want to do ranked match, do training with auto match making.

Edit: He's massive, so there are a lot of sentinal only combo's and infinites that do huge damage back at him. I'm not denying he is strong, I just think people need to cry less so early on in the games life.

It didn't help the "crying" that capcom admitted that they did little to no balancing.

I really like the game and find it fun to play, but most of those I know who regularly play in tournaments (I don't enter anymore, don't have the time / do other things) all agree the game is missing something.

A lot of top players such as Wong and Marn agree that it's fun, but they're worried it could be broken...

I'd love for them all to be proven wrong, (and either way, it doesn't affect me in the least as I've no plans to play seriously) but I do wonder if they will be.

Edit: Misread your post.

MvC is not meant to be balanced, every character is meant to be broken. It would be severely disappointing if they patched things to stunt players development and learning new things.

Did my first set of ranked today ended on a 14 streak, managed to work out some stuff against keepaway players. Had a rage quitter as well, found it funny because I checked his bio and it was full of cocky stuff.

Anyway I'm not fussed if it's that balanced or not, all I know is it's a hell of a lot of fun even when you are losing. I found SFIV to be kinda stressful at times especially when playing uppercut mashers.

Wesker and Magneto are just too much fun.

Edit: Also finding the netcode to be really good, I only noticed one instance of lag when playing a ranked match, I was able to block on reaction too

Not that I expected a game such as this to be finely tunned and balanced.
But surely in competitions that would defeat the objective? Your thoughts?

The idea behind marvel is that every character is broken. If any character hits you they can kill a character. That in itself is a form of balance.

The game also has so many potential options per character (unlike SFIV) that even in a decades time it is possible for someone to rock up to a tournament with some new strategy/setup that can beat the current top tier strat.

In SFIV everyone plays the characters in the same generic fashion and every one copies youtube strategies. Marvel allows a lot of freedom and has a much more interesting development through its lifespan.

Net code is identical to sfiv. The dial a combo's can be easily done in lag though, but you haven't started to reaction punish stuff yet so I think your opinion may change over time.

I missed this post before. How can Wong say he's worried it may be broken? He played MvC2 for how long? Now, a game that had around 40 useless characters, numerous infinites and other glitches is broken. Didn't stop him playing that for like, 10 years?
