Marvel Vs Capcom 3

I don't like elements of luck in competitive games.

Are air combos a "lucky" element of play? Surely after finishing off a dial combo for one of your players you simply tag in the other?

(I havent even done this myself as I havent had a chance to sit down and play it properly yet).

The idea behind marvel is that every character is broken. If any character hits you they can kill a character. That in itself is a form of balance.

The game also has so many potential options per character (unlike SFIV) that even in a decades time it is possible for someone to rock up to a tournament with some new strategy/setup that can beat the current top tier strat.

In SFIV everyone plays the characters in the same generic fashion and every one copies youtube strategies. Marvel allows a lot of freedom and has a much more interesting development through its lifespan.

I think that might also have something to do with how people learn games nowadays. The fist game that I seriously started trying to get good at was Tekken 3 and the resources online were very limited I'm not even sure that Tekken Ziabatsu was created back then, there was no online play just you and whoever you can get together. Because of this you had to find your own setups your own combos and your own style with every character.

But if now you can just go online to find the best combo you can do, and traps that some characters struggle against why would you not find that out and use it? The thing is this has really limited the creativity to a very small percentage of the community while the others just apply what these people find.

Note: I'm not saying SF has more options than MVC just I think the creativity with SFIV was stifled with the advent of websites like SRK.

the only thing that is broken in this game is the x-factor, the heath regen and chip damage on this is stupid, it turns any character into a beast once its on. one character comeback is not that hard now. sentinel is annoying but beatable, like sagat in sf4.

i have finalised my team to morrigan, viper and akuma. the only problem i find is i alway run out of meter, but unless something dramatic happen to the game, i am sticking with this team til the end of the life cycle of the game

I was thinking about getting this but after watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNjm51dmagM I'm not gonna bother until Capcom sort out the damage... Marn takes down 2 players with Magneto... the game is just broke

So?

If you mean 2 characters then he obviously got caught out when calling in an assist so they take extreme damage. This is a great thing because there's less assist spam now, or well it's far more risky because of how much extra damage they take.

Good thing if you ask me. Not sure why it would prevent you enjoying it or anything, everything they can do to you, you can do to them.

Had a 9 hour session today. Phoenix in X-Factor is clearly more broken than Sentinel, by miles!

She kills your team in 1 simple combo each (doing 1.3 million), and she heals insanely fast with the heal super and X-Factor.

Anyone whining about Sentinel needs to play a half decent Phoenix player, even in non-resurrection mode!

I think there is one thing that was said in that video that could be true...
This game does not reward defense. "You mash buttons, you're more likely to win than the guy worrying about defense".
