US: Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (US timeline) *spoilers*

Looks like it's moving to Summer 2019. Makes sense for such a short run and it's way stronger on PVR watches than live which is to be expected for a Friday night show.

renewed for season 6 :)

Not even seen the last season let alone this season am way behind but am happy they renewed it despite the poor ratings and numbers.

You need to get caught up, the last two seasons have been absolutely superb.

Plus they have to wait for Infinity War Part 2 to play out before they can come back, otherwise there'll be some serious continuity errors!

So there's another Fitz frozen in space, heading into the future? Someone please remind me how? How are there two?

Good episode though. I actually thought they could/should have made more from Simmond's reaction. Was also surprised how easy whatshisname went down too, for someone that can fly, being blasted into space.

Wibbly wobbly timey wimey.

If you remember Enoch froze Fitz that got left behind in a stasis pod ready to wake up in the future and help the team get back to the correct time. That means when they came back in time that Fitz was already in stasis waiting to be woke up... So when they do retrieve that Fitz he'll have no memory of anything that's happened since they returned to the present...

Yeah, okay thanks, so he does end up dying. There aren't two of him, he just has to go forward (frozen), to come back with the team, to die...

No, there are two of him, just from different points in his timeline. As the loop is now broken both exist concurrently.

However in this new timeline, as the Earth never explodes frozen Fitz would wake up in 100 years to a whole Earth; and no team to rescue.

TBH they never went into much detail of the time travel rules for the Marvel universe; but this appears to be how it's worked.

I'm probably just not getting it, but -

- team gets stolen and pushed into the future, without Fitz
- Fitz gets frozen by weird guy and revived later to meet with the team
- everyone comes back through time to present day

Present day and future Fitz are still the same person, no?

When they've gone back into the past, there exists two Fitz. One that's just come back from the future, and one that's frozen in his attempt to get to the future. He doesn't suddenly cease to exist (As during this period of time he's still just frozen)

As I said, they are the same Fitz though, just at different points in his life (which doesn't change depending on where they are in time, as HeX said, in his timeline... just the one timeline for his life). His timeline still ends with that death we just saw. If they bring him out of stasis, he might not go into the future with the others and everything breaks down. (I guess it's possible all along he never went into stasis just that once, he got brought out by the team, but it can't be for long before they put him back in to go to the future as he looked this same age when we see him in the future.)

That future no longer exists, so there's nothing to break by bringing him out of stasis.

But everyone came from that future, so actually everything that had happened would be undone...? The past was changed by people from that timeline, that timeline no-longer exists... so can't be changed by people from it... this was all I'm talking about. It's why time travel plots generally don't work very well for me.

That's probably because you're not using the logic that the writers want you to.

At the end of the day, the writers can do what they want with time travel as it's fictional.
