*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Didn't Bioware say that ME3 would be the conclusion of Shepards' story though?

They did. But they now say this isn't the last we'll hear of Commander Shepard (their words). The pop up after the ending saying to continue Shepard's legend with DLC also basically admits they ain't done.

Imo, take everything they've said in the past about ME3 and just ignore it. Get less BS from politicians than Bioware devs/marketing people these days.

Meh, they'll probably discover a clone of Shepard somewhere in cryo stasis after project lazarus or something daft

Sad thing is, with the way their writers seem to be going this wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Speculation here but during the "Indoctination attempt" at the end, who's to say that Shepard's conscience doesn't actually destroy the reapers? I know, clutching at straws here, just trying to make sense of it.

After the destroy option, what if Shepard's will actually destroys the reaper conscience. I know, each Reaper is unto their own, a nation. I'm a bit tired here but stay with me, what if Shepard was the catylist with his strong will to resist the reapers. Acting as a virus, he is able to destroy the reaper code that was brought up during the quarian/geth struggle?

I am still convinced everything is a dream/subconsciousness, the relays are shown symbolically to show the release of reaper control over them. Also the Normandy escaping is the final part of Shepard's conscience, only then when they are "at peace" and Shepard has won does he/she wake up.

Just kicking ideas around here really. I refuse to take the ending at face value, not respectable developer would allow this, unless it isn't what it seems.

As I've said, I do like the indoctrination spin on the ending, makes a whole lot of sense to me.

PMSL I kept wondering why Ahreeeaahhh's name kept getting starred :D

I just finished the game, and yes the ending was a little disappointing, I still found it epic. I really hope there is another game, or at least some amazing DLC.

I'm actually realy sad the ME story has come to an end. I have immensly enjoyed the story (through the game and the books) over the years, and it's really sad to know that the story is over :( It's like the ME universe is non existent now...

nice spoiler

A little

I could've coped with the ending if it had been handled just a smidge differently, i mean bittersweet is fine if it makes sense.

But the fact that Casper the ghost appeared in the last 5 - 10 mins of the game & gives you a truly idiotic, contradictory explanation, as to why advanced sentient life is culled every 50,000 years, made absolutely no sense what so ever, ide love to know who dreamt that wee gem up.

Nothing Space-Wizard-Kid says make any sense at all. I think he is the evolution of cleverbot, just spewing out random nonsense..

Seriously, the more you think about it, the less it makes sense, it really is quite impressive. My favourite points atm are the infinite ammo gun which never needs reloading(though you can reload it if you want), and Anderson getting to the panel before you(the biggest hole imo)

I am getting quite sad actually, I can't stop thinking about it. HELP ME!!! I can usually just move on after a disappointing game, but this is consuming me for some reason. It just shows how disconnected the ending is from the rest of the trilogy I was so invested in.

I just can't believe in indoc theory anymore, too much time has pssed, but it is a great explanation for everything.

I couldn't help but watch a bit. Had me in stritches, but had to turn it off to stop me from ruining the story when it comes on sale ;-) lol.

Unlocked a M98 Widow sniper rifle for the multiplayer, omg it's awesome. Lowish ammo capacity and slow reload. It will take down a marauder with full shield with a headshot. Coupled with the Revenant assault rifle makes for a good soldier or infiltrator loadout.

Also getting annoyed with Rambo wannabe adepts trying to solo every damn thing.

Just checked mine through a tethered phone. Got the N7 Valiant rifle, which is my preferred weapon from the offline capaign(not sure how it will play online) and the disciple shotgun in the other pack. I guess its a good enough reason to try out an infiltrator build

Wouldn't that build give you a ridiculous weight penalty with both weapons?

Bioshock creator supports Bioware's right to screw up the ending : http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/mass-effect-3/1221240p1.html

I am not really sure what they are trying to say in that tbh. Certainly I would be surprised if the person that those quotes were attributed to had played the game.

Also, they seem oblivious to the fact that many times endings have been changed after outcry or criticism from the public in different mediums(fallout 3, Sherlock Homes, Great Expectations, countless movies) so I am not really sure where they are coming from. Plus this is not a finished product whichever way you look at it any way, as there was always going to be dlc which added to the story, so many of the 'arty' arguments are fairly moot imo.

When you start the multiplayer you have only the standard weapons and no mods either!

Number of these people seem to insist on comparing the issue to asking for the ending of a book or film to be changed, hell that gamespy article even has a warhammer online dev (lol) comparing it to asking J.K. Rowling to change the end of Harry Potter.
They so miss the point its not funny, nowhere over the 7 Harry Potter books do i get to choose Harry's responses to people. If ME was just a bog standard linear shooter with a fixed story this whole issue would be non existant as this type of ending isn't out of the ordinary for that format of story, and you probably wouldn't care since it's not a character you have any control over the personality of.

Which is how it should be otherwise there wouldn't be any progression :p. It doesn't really take long at all to level a class up to 20. The only thing it does take time to do is upgrade your equipment.

Only done a few missions so far, but really loving it.

Will definitely be getting all the DLC for this one, even though I disagree with DLC.......god damnit they have me!
