No promotion of OcUK's competitors

We, Overclockers UK (OcUK) are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwidth which is paid for exclusively by us. As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-

Posting links to competitors websites
Posting links to reviews that promote competitors
Quoting the names or contact details of competitors
Offering to provide the names or contact details of competitors
Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
Using the forums to notify a member of intent or actual supply of names or contact details of competitors
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in signatures
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in profile
Posting links to or the mentioning of auction sites
Disguising attempts to do any of the above

That said I am pretty sure it was said by mods here quite a while ago it was ok to mention websites that are not direct competitors. For instance I know on the Diablo 3 post, Amazon and Shopto are mentioned as places to buy the game. Even though OCUK sell Diablo.

I think (correct me if I am wrong) that the mods just didnt want direct computer part selling competitors mentioned.

Hmmmm, what do we make of this then-

https://twitter.com/#!/masseffect/status/185218500011376640

No way they would be that smug if they were just referring to the "clarification" they have talked about

You're reading into it way too much imo. Something that doesn't make sense now can easily make sense with 5min worth of dialogue added.

They are being very coy about the whole thing but lets not get our hopes up that they will change the whole ending. Assume all they'll do is add come text/dialogue/cutscenes to try and explain stuff.

I agree, but the :D after the post.....how could they be that smug about changing the endings when it is something they have been pressured in to by fans? Unless they really do have absolutely no idea how to communicate.

Well going by how they handled this whole thing communication wise and how well they communicate with paying subscribers in swtor, i'll lean towards bioware in general having no clue how to communicate :p

So Bioware has given the cupcakes to a kids shelter :)

Here are some messages that were sent along with the cupcakes:

Okay, so I'm waiting for my PC version of ME3 to arrive, however, I played the other 2 on the XB360 is there anyway I can modify the PC save file so I have the choices I made in the first two games without going through them both?

Wouldn't bother, not like they change anything anyway.

Importing a save from ME2 makes the game a hell of a lot more fun because characters from ME2 come back in ME3 then. They don't if you don't import anything. Jack, Thane, Legion, Grunt, just to name a few. If you don't import a save game, it's like they never existed. I suggest getting a save from that site linked a few posts up (importing a xbox save on pc is impossible), and choose one with similar choices to the ones you made. Best tip I can give is: get one where everyone lived through pretty much everything, collector base destroyed and maelon's genophage data saved.

Must admit less than a third into the game and I find myself disengaging from it. Maybe it's because of all the bad press about the ending, maybe because it doesn't really add anything to the experience in the earlier games but takes away quite a lot of the freedom and fun things you could do - like exploration in ME1.

You're not alone. The core gameplay is barely changed from ME2 so it doesn't have the new ground feel 2 did, the squad members are less interesting.. far less interesting, the plot is unexciting, the quest system/fetch quests are MIND NUMBING, doing laps around the citadel for someone to click on etc. Small bits of welcome interaction/ambience are all gone, like the adverts dotted around the citadel in 2, or the hilarious vending machine, the npcs like the video game salesman, there is nothing like that, the sound bites you get on the news terminals are dire and nothing at all like a news show.

I have played as Vanguard on Insanity/hardest setting since ME and this time it was just retarded. I rarely had to shoot, put charge and nova on hotkeys, press 2, press 3, spin the camera, press 2, press 3.
I actually ended up listening to my own music to alleviate the boredom about halfway through, a terrible terrible sign for an ME game.

It's HALF.. yes HALF the game ME1 and 2 were. Then the cherry on the poo flavoured cake, the ending. I'm quite ok with a bleak/not happy ending in most things, more often than not it makes for a better, more lasting and thought provoking end, but this is out there on it's own, it makes the plopstorm about the last ME novel seem like a distant memory.

You do just seem to be funnelled from shoot-out to shoot-out with very little content in-between.

...doing laps around the citadel for someone to click on etc. .

You can just bring up the map and find the location or the person rather than randomly walking around

Yeah, I did work that out eventually. I suppose in the haze of frustration and disappointment with the whole game and turning off/feel disengaged, I just remembered the wandering around. They still should have added some sort of simple tracking in the codex "x quest is done, go see y".

It wasn't all bad, just most of it. I did love the score.

To be fair same can be said about the other ME games.

Not all of them get highlighted (there's a few odd ones that don't), that said you do spend a lot of your time running back and forth around the Normandy and the citadel to make sure you picked up all the possible quests/had all the possible conversations with your crew mates.

On a side note, I'd disagree about the squad mates being boring. The only one that really annoyed me was Javik - for some odd reason I sympathized with Liara's disappointment of him :P.
