****MASS EFFECT : ANDROMEDA****

One of those trailers that completely de-hypes me for the game. It just looks so flat somehow...you would think they would have been able to showcase it better, but probably it is the fact that AAA reveals like this feel so pedestrian. Compare it to the Del Toro/Kojima game reveal and tell me which one fires you up more.

I do agree. Doesn't really seem to be offering anything new and exciting worthy of the long development time and HUGE budget they had. Plus the voice acting in that scene made me cringe something awful. Things like that just ruin a game for me. I have definitely seen a big chunk of my enthusiasm wiped out after watching this. :(

Hmmm pretty disappointing stuff in the trailers...linear action shooter coming with horrendous voice acting. Bring back the feel and atmosphere of ME1 that's all I want. I hate the way games are heading, just leaves me feeling meh.

I totally agree.

But strangely enough I'm warming more to MEA with every reveal. It might actually be good for a "soft" reboot, and a deserving spiritual sequel to ME1.

I felt the franchise went off the rails with 2 and 3, but it seems like they may be taking the combat/gameplay advances made across those two games while bringing the theme back to that in ME1 - strangers/newcomers in a new environment, filled with awe and wonder.

The cutscene trailer was cringeworthy.

The never before seen in the history of entertainment "point the gun at me so I can take it" trick.

The dialogue...
"Drop it!"
"You first!"

The horrid facial animations.

I wouldn't touch the preorder button with a barge-pole.

I also agree with this - the cutscene was a bit... cheesy, and the animations do need some work.

This feels like one of those 'Top Chart' albums of the seventies that had all the hits, done by session musicians. It almost feels bogus.
Hope I'm wrong.

Mass Effect: Andromeda coming March 21st in the US & March 23rd in the EU in 2017

By Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of Bioware

On behalf of our teams across Montreal, Edmonton and Austin, I’m excited to announce that Mass EffectTM: Andromeda will be launching in North America on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 and beginning Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Europe. We appreciate your patience (and in fact, even your lack of patience in some instances) as we’ve been focused on completing the game. Here’s a little bit of context into how we’ve gotten here.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date. We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the FrostbiteTM game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To deliver on this, we’re taking all the time we can to make sure you’re getting the best possible experience.

Over this holiday break, developers at BioWare took home a version of the game in what we call the “holiday build”. This is a longstanding studio tradition that goes back to the early days of the original Mass Effect. Many load up a PC or console and go home to play as much as possible at their leisure. Coming back from holiday, the feedback has been great. Getting the endorsement from members of our studio, many of whom played key roles on the original trilogy, was definitely a key factor in helping us lock in on the date.

Even more exciting for us over the last couple of months has been seeing the excitement build in the community as we’ve started to share more about the game. The passion you have for the franchise continues to drive us. And now, we’re just a couple of months away from delivering a brand new Mass Effect experience to you for the first time in five years – richer, deeper and ready for exploration. We’re excited about how far we are going with the franchise, and we hope you find it’s been worth the wait.

See you in Andromeda,

Aaryn

Nice to finally see a solid launch date for ME:A

Was waiting for someone to dig this up.

Good news on a fixed release date only 2 months away.

Still waiting on multiplayer gameplay videos. Shame the MP beta won't be available on PC.

Was hoping for something a little more than that but oh well. As much as I love Mass Effect i'm not pre ordering until some reviews come out.

Yup, gonna wait too I think. Looks a lot shallower than the original ME series...

Yup, I felt a bit upset after watching that small clip. Why wait until March 21 if I can play something like Halo now :( I've never played Halo as it's never appealed so I'm starting to feel a little disheartened about ME:A :(

I will still be buying it though ha.
