****MASS EFFECT : ANDROMEDA****

Well, after 100 hours on the dot, I've finally completed my first run Insanity difficulty of Mass Effect : Andromeda. Finishing out at level 59 (levels up during last bit to 60) and 97% of the game along the way. (The last 3% I'm guessing are some of the quests that can bug out or I have no interest in driving around the planets looking for random stuff over).

All in all, I like what's been done. Although some of the glitches were annoying. I personally have a lot of profile switching issues or even assigning profiles at all unless I go through the menu. So I've only ever stuck with my first profile of adept. Nevermind, will try more on my "Normal" run in the future. :)

If you're using Shift+F1 for Origin overlay and press that, it seems to trap those keys. You to press F1 again in game before any of the favourites (F1-F4) keys respond. Same for Shift and sprinting :(

Angry Joe gave this a 6/10, I think based on that I will certainly wait for a sale. His biggest highlights for me were the terrible script, awful dialogue presentation (one clip in paticular when a team mate says in the middle of a fight "I think I made him mad... Because I shot him in the face"... Cringe... So much cringe). Obviously the animations, as a whole though, not just facial and at just how buggy it was.

Which is a shame, I hope they can recover from this but it's clear as daylight that they skimped out on Q&A and I hope they learn from their mistakes. No doubt I will pick this up as I'm a huge ME fan, but as I said, not for full price, < $25 I think.

True, some of the characters aren't great, but I really enjoyed the humour in one of the loyalty missions I played last night. I like the subtle references to ME1-3 and the part I'm at currently is possible leading towards a BIG reference to the previous games. That would be cool :)

@fireisdangerous That definitely looks like your card is starting to fail, are you running any overclock on it?

Agreed, that's memory artifacting (huh, artifacting isn't a word...). If you've not got it overclocked, then underclock the memory by 300mHz and see if the problem goes away, if it does. RMA time.

I thought it was my card overheating or running out of vram as previously I had this after playing for a couple of hours, but the screen shot I posted was after 5 mins of driving round eos.

Will give it another go tonight and see if it does it again, hopefully card isn't dying.

Yes my card has been locking up so i dialed back the clocks thinking it was overheating but this is making me think now its a problem with the game?

I ended up buying this but I'm now considering a refund. It's not polished enough to warrant the amount I paid, imo.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Patch 1.05 Notes - coming Thursday.

Like most, if not all PC games these days, will probably be a lot better six months down the line, after patches.

"Over the next two months we’ll be rolling out additional patches which will go even deeper and look to improve several areas of the game:

  • More options and variety in the character creator
Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters
Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations
Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder
Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams

These upcoming patches will also address performance and stability issues. And we’re looking at adding more cosmetic items to single player for free.

For multiplayer, over the same timeframe, we’re going to continue to build on the APEX missions that have been running since launch. We’ll be adding new maps, characters, and weapons. On Thursday, we kick off the first of three new chapters centered around The Remnant Investigation.

This is just a taste of what’s in store as we continue to support Mass Effect: Andromeda. And as always, you all play an important role in that. We want to hear from you about your experiences, both what you love about the game and what you’d like to see changed. We’re listening, and we’re committed to partnering with you as we continue to explore the Andromeda galaxy together."

Shoulda saved themselves the effort. Until the bugs are fixed, even playing this for free is grim.
Yup I agree.

I very rarely play any game on release day now. Always best to wait 6 months for the PC version to get patched up and working as it should have been on day 1.

I imagine the main point they do some big games like this is to send a message to the game developers/publishers and denuvo though.

I don't condone piracy but I don't understand why publishers bother with these copy protection programs when they are always seemingly cracked in a few weeks of release.

They know it will eventually be cracked but they want to be crack proof for the first few weeks after release to try to get sales from people that cave in and can't wait for the crack
