Mass Effect Legendary edition (Remastered 1,2 & 3)

Tbf andromeda was not done by the same team that did the original mass effect trilogy

Everyone knows that, but may be a different team but its the same studio and publisher, and while the team given control of Andromeda were not capable of delivering at the end of the day Bioware/EA released it... plus the 'team' that did ME1 (and to an extent ME2) are mostly gone from the company. So any new mass effect, regardless of the teams location will be a different set of people.

End of the day there is no excuse for Andromeda's release state, while really nailed the combat it was a horrible excuse for a ME title, regardless of the Bioware team who created it.

I'm worried about them changing bits of the game for this remaster. Mafia 1 made me realise that I should wait until late post release reviews come in before opting to buy because who knows what will be changed to appease todays ********** and SJW's.

At it's current price it is quite a lot of cash for a game we already know too well story wise and has that stupid RGB ending.

I agree hence why I've said I pretend andromeda doesn't exist as nothing about it was good

I hope that which ever team is doing the next one takes the time and its all worth it by the end

Me neither! I assume there's something more too it, need someone who makes games to answer really. I don't think the DLC is that big, I wonder how feasible it'd be or long it'd take to just redo it from scratch.
Although not a game developer I have worked in software development. Having the final compiled code that you provide to customers is very different to the source code that's actually used to develop the game. It is generally not possible to reverse engineer the source code from the compiled version. This is why end users can't simply open up a game or application and change the code, i.e. the opposite of Open Source where the code is made freely available for people to tinker with.

The question for me is how was the source code lost? Must have been a systematic and multi level failure of their backup systems, although as it's EA they probably thought a copy on a USB stick could save a few £/$.

Hopefully it's just a lick of paint on the game and nothing is actually getting altered in terms of content, will wait on reviews from beta testers I mean day 1 purchasers before I decide to get it myself

I don't know how. But the DLC wasn't released for on one of the previous platforms because they'd already lost it.

I assumed it was something similar to what you'd said, but I thought it'd be less of a concern as it's not the game that was lost just the DLC. So I thought things like enemy behaviours might not be needed, or weapons behaviours.
Textures probably would be replaced regardless, sounds would probably mostly be shared. It's why I thought it might not be too big a task, if they only need to recreate DLC specific bits.

It'll be embarrassing for them if modders do it, then again, maybe that's what they are hoping for.

^That's a fair point, it's not like Pinnacle Station had much in the way of bespoke story content, so should still be able pull a lot from the base game plus add any DLC specific textures as a mod.

Really only interested in this for the ME1 remaster, as the gameplay, UI and interactions haven't aged well, though the story is the best of the lot.
