Masters of the Air 2023

hmmmm heady heights to match what Band of Brothers and The Pacific are, but that's a very Micheal Bay-eqsue trailer.
Does definitely seem a bit action movie.

If it's about the bomber boys, mainly the 100th Bomb Group who were based at RAF Thorpe Abbotts in Norfolk... Then having one of the Tuskegee Airmen's Mustangs, which were based based in Morocco, Tunisia or Italy (depending on which squadron and when during the war it's happening) seems a bit... odd.

But then again, the US Armed forces were completely segregated until 1948 (iirc) so, unless they want an entirely white cast...

yeh the trailer doesn't fill me with confidence...

Looks like they have gone in a different direction compared to the all out harrowing dark realism of Band of Brothers/Pacific.

The only thing I can think is if you look at the 'newer' trailers for Band of Brothers and The Pacific that are on YouTube, like this.

It's very wham, blam, suspense, drama, blam, drama, boom.

Like the part with Dyke asking Lipton why he joined the paratroopers is completely out of context in the trailer compared to the show.

So hopefully it's just some overeager marketing person trying to be cool and hip.

Yeh I hope so.

All trailers these days are the same god-awful template. I swear the same guy does the all...... some airy piano to start....the title..... then a few strings before we head into the increasing pace and volume drum hits and crescendo of rapid cuts.... bit of a quiet bridge..... Then one more hit crescendo.

I only needed to watch the first 5 seconds to know how it goes.

The Dune trailers are all as execrable as this one but fortunately bear little resemblance to the actual film.

We've now got the opening title sequence. It's better... No where near as much action film styling. Still don't know what the red tails are doing in it as it follows the 100th bomb group.
