Mayweather Vs Pacquiao is ON !!!!!

That was before, this is now.. Mayweather / Mosely pulled in twice as many PPV's compared to Pac-Man vs Clottey..

What would be a fair comparision would be DLH & Ricky Hatton bouts since both have fought and all were PPV. Anyone know what the final PPV's were for that? Even then an argument could be had that Hatton has his own following as does DLH.

Mayweather is the bigger attraction over in the USA and most money will be coming in from the HBO PPV, so he does have a good case to ask for more of the split.

As predicted, Mayweathers's team are now demanding more of the purse split.. Obviously Pacquiao's team are refusing, so this time round it's not the drugs which will throw this bout off, its now down to the purse split..

Where's the confirmed sources for this?
Too much false information going around the internet just now regarding this fight.

The only place that I've seen the claim was in a phillipino newspaper's website. But then it wouldn't surprise me if it was true, but I still don't see it being a sticking point, unless one of these fighters is looking to back out of the fight.

I'm really not very optimistic at this point that the fight will ever be made. These are the #1 & #2 p4p fighters and welterweights, having collectively beaten and even embarrassed the rest of the top 5 of their division. They are the only two fighters with mainstream popularity and it's the only megafight that can be made in boxing right now. Negotiations just aren't going to fall apart over 5% of the purse unless there's something else going on.

Reported by "The Philippine Star", not exactly an unbiased credible source of news now is it :p

Probably not, but if i was Ellerbe i'd probably be trying it on... After all if we all weigh up the facts and figures, he probably is entillted to a bigger slice of the pie.. This is HBO, Floyd is American most of the fight money will come from America...

but Pac doesn't need Mayweather since he's more than happy with his political career so if it's not 50/50 it won't happen IMO

That's my feeling as well, he does seem very content going down the political route, although I really hope his pride will get the better of him, as this fight has to happen and it would be the perfect time for both boxers to bow out, if they win.

It would be a real shame if it doesn't happen.

My understanding is that Pac wants one more fight (pay day) before moving into politics full time. I think he does want this fight, if only for the final pay day.

I agree, I think he'll take it providing the Mayweather camp doesn't start asking for silly splits. I hope they both agree on 50/50 otherwise this fight is at risk.. but i think it's likely they'll be asking for 60/40. What was the split between Hatton / Pacquaio out of interest? Pac-man does believe he is the biggest draw, as goes to show when he fought Hatton, though the truth of the matter is Mayweather is the much bigger draw, though that was before he easily walked through two of the top 3 pound for pounders. I don't think i'd pay for another of his fights unless it was against Pacquaio.

Mayweather is a decent guy all the other stuff you hear about him is just hyping up a fight. Mayweather has the right to ask for 60/40 as he always generates the most PPVs.

Video has been removed, what did it say?

well i've just read about it, but i wouldn't put too much belief into it yet.. golden boy hasn't made any announcments and given the fact the video has been pulled, seems to show htere's not much truth in it ...... just yet..
