McDonald’s general discussion

You never gone for a fine dining experience at McDonalds? Ruined these days by all the kids and no Ronald McDonald statues for ambiance!
I must be mad, no?!

I mean my local McDs is inundated by delivery drivers, but they even offer table service now lol. The floor is half as sticky as it used to be, too.

We had a 25 minute wait sat in their restaurant. To be fair to McDees my wife did order a fillet of fish and that always throws them into a state of chaos.

They should do the fries shake bags again.
Have these in many European countries. Look at the menus abroad and you sigh as wish they have some of the stuff on our menus. Spain do McRibs and this which looks very good https://mcdonalds.es/productos/sandwiches-principales/double-mcextreme-bacon (you can have website translated in English)

Only times I have been to McDs abroad is grab a coffee or drink to use their loos. As one McDs in Riga I had to scan the QR code on receipt to gain access to the loo. Unsure if they know if a receipt was reused if found one on a table.

Has anyone tried the double big man yet? I had the hatrick a few times the meat was much nicer then any of their other burgers I've tried

I was unfortunate enough to have a double Big Mac yesterday evening and I thought it was pretty awful. There was far too much meat in it and by the time I’d struggled half way through, it had basically fallen apart.

I don’t know if it was badly cooked but the whole thing was very dry. The second half went in the bin.

Plus European places do beer which saves the choice in the UK of ending up with a Tropicana because the rest of the options are rubbish! They've gone with Coke, the worst flavour of Oasis and got rid of Still Fanta!

On the flip side, EU places don't do breakfasts or milkshakes :(

Can you imagine if UK McDs started to sell beer? Wouldn’t go down well with the DM

Do McDs sell Irn Bru in Scotland?

Some McDs in Europe do breakfasts. Malta do a chicken McMuffin. My colleague who doesn’t eat pig. She ordered one in Malta airport (without mayo as hates it) she says it was nice with a very light seasoning on the coating.

Think McDs offers poor variety in the UK

I too, miss still Fanta.

I don't mind the Oasis but when it changed to Zero I was hopeful it would be a citrus based flavour.

Gutted to see it was still the purple one :D

I’m losing faith in McDonald’s chips. They feel like they’re too soggy and undercooked nowadays, and less seasoned? Has the recipe changed or something?
My wife said to me about a year ago that McDonald’s have stopped salting their chips, which she said she assumed was due to nanny state health nonsense. I was like no way…. But the next time we went the chips had no salt?!?! I went another couple of times to same branch and still no salt. I therefore made her correct.

Weirdly though, we went to a different one and it was completely different experience. Really well assembled meal and the chips were old skool salty goodness. So now I’m confused as it seems some places don’t salt and some do!?!

Father in law is in hospital, so when we left him, it was quite late. Popped into Maccy's;

Good:

Me: Quarter pounder with cheese
Daughter: McCrispy Smokehouse
Sharing Garlic bread cheese dippers - awesome! Although the wifey said i stunk of garlic that night.

Bad:

Paper straw in my strawberry milkshake :(
Was expensive - £20!

They should be salted everywhere.

Lazy staff, broken salt shaker, ran out of salt. Pick one.

To explain the broken salt shaker, they use a bespoke salt skater that dispenses a specific amount of salt and spreads it out over all the chips. You just have to flip it over and it does its thing but it’s made of hard plastic. If you drop it on a hard tiled floor too many times, it will break.

Yup 100% believe that

"Anyone trained to manually dispense salt?, no?"

A chicken McMuffin sounds absolutely awful.

I'll keep our menu thanks
