Mcleish quits Birmingham

I'm sorry I'm not sure what you're getting at?

Azza supports Everton, but hey I'll feed the troll.

Manchester United got to the Champions League Final and were played off the pitch by Barcelona. I don't think you'll find many United fans who will feel hard done by or at all bitter about losing to one of, if not the best and most talented club side ever produced.

I don't understand how you can gloat about that? REALLY? You support a team in Scotland? Really?...

You know how you feel every time Rangers / Celtic get knocked out of the Champions League by teams like Manchester United and they completely dominate you and boss you about? Well that's how United felt, difference is, it happens once in a blue moon to a club like say, United, Liverpool or Arsenal. It happens every time a Scottish team gets in to the Champions League.

As for Smith, he's only at Rangers because he wasn't good enough to manage a side in a top European League.
i never gloated , i pointed out that the english premierships champions got played off the park by barcalona in englands national stadium , infact the two teams were worlds apart , barcelona wiped the floor with englands finest yet you guys still have the arrogance to call other leagues second rate .

The Scottish League is second rate?

Barcelona are one of the best club sides we will ever see. Period. of course the rest of Europe looks like it's playing a different sport. I fail to see your point.

United might be "worlds" apart, but Rangers / Celtic are in a different sodding universes.

Scottish football is in no position to criticise any other league nor team.

thing is i didnt criticise any other league , only your arrogance, which is alive and well i see.

English football teams and fans are allowed a certain arrogance, as they're like, one of the best Leagues in Europe and some of the best football sides in Europe.

Pipe down and go back to trying to get one over on the other team in Scotland.

What's my age got to do with anything?

Edit, this is getting more off topic. So I'll leave you Scottish football fans to argue amongst yourselves.

The way I see it is something must have happen behind the scence with the board for Alex to leave like that. I really believed he was gonna quit after being relegated, as he looked fed up. Whether he had a job lined up and he coundnt pass it down, he should at least left the correct way. At the moment we don't have the full story but I'm really am dissapointed at him.

Unless there's something else going on to email a resignation looks to me like a lack of respect for the club and the owners - maybe that's exactly what it was intended to signify but I rather thought Mr McLeish would have the courtesy to pass on his resignation in person.

"He is still our contracted staff and Birmingham City does not grant him any right to speak to any outsiders until the matter is resolved.

"I will be meeting my legal team and rest assured I will leave no stones unturned.

"It's about time some discipline is instilled into this game and I am unfortunately not a person who gets pushed about."

Looks like he could be doing a bit of gardening on his leave for a few years.

He was happy enough to be "up to his knees in fenian blood", i cant imagine he has taken a sudden moral highground over Marlon King.

Both Rangers and Celtic as institutions thrive on and condone bigotry, don't for one minute think that Celtic are any better or worse than Rangers, they are both exactly the same, the only difference with Celtic and their fans is they are ashamed of nothing and offended by everything.

I suppose there could be a few mid table Premier League clubs he could do well at. Blackburn (I know they're relegation fodder) but he's got to be better then what they have. It's also more of a side ways step then a step up.

It's a strange...yet interesting one at the same time. Apparently McLeish has a gagging order against him right now which means he obviously can't confirm the reasons and of course the club are not looking to confirm these reasons then there is something afoot.

Transfer policy perhaps? Promises broken in terms of squad upheaval? Or of course another job lined up...that then goes into the realms of tapping up...

Interesting few days/weeks ahead.

Alex is a good manager though and sadly as pointed out by some posters already, he lost his defencive pairing and thus relegation beckoned.

However one thing I've never really see him go out and get for Birmingham in his time there was a top quality striker. Also part of Birmingham's downfall last season...

We don't want you at Villa Mcleish.

SOTC UTV

Agreed with Sandy.

Scottish guys - take it elsewhere ffs, we don't care about your pointless bickering thanks. No matter where you lot end up it's mindless arguing, give it a rest, this thread's not about you.

I'd like Hughes tbh, did a good job at City and Fulham and can stabilise us a little bit. Just anyone but McLeish.. that will NOT go down well. There will be uproar if he's appointed.

Hughes has openly stated his desire to manage a top club in europe, Birmingham dont fill that remit although I think he's got ideas above his station.
