*****MENTAL NVIDIA GTX 470 DEALS - PRICES from £164.99 Delivered!!*****

My mate is getting the 165 quid 470 and has 65 quid left to spend on a psu could someone Advise me on the best 1 to get in that price range please, we looked at the OcUK 850 watt Crusade quad rail???

on the subject of psu's ive got a corsair tx750 i7 920@4Ghz swiftect water loop and a single MSI 470@800 with only 1025mv, cdrw, dvdrw, 1TB f3, 640Gb aaks and a intel 80Gb ssd, you reckon thiers room for another 470...?

OH GOD how I wish my mobo was SLI capable:(
My new WC can easily take one under it's wing too, i'm getting 38 degrees max temps on the GPU lol.

I was going to buy a new monitor this month, I don't NEED anymore GPU power but I DO want SLI one day and don't want to kick myself later when prices go up!

I paid £225 for my MSI card, WOW at these prices

when's sandybridge again lol?

Id be very tempted to add a second gigabyte, though i thought my psu may be borderline, (corsair hx 850w), particularly with an overclocked i7.

You'll be fine. I have my i7 950 running at 4.5Ghz, two pov gtx470 overclocked to 839, two laing d5 pumps, numorous hard drives all running from a 850W Seasonic M12.

Excuse my noobness.
What were the prices before the discount.
It sounds a lot but since i dont know what the prices were then i dont know if its a good deal.
Also is this a better card than the ATI 6870, (which i am about to press the button to buy)
One more thing can the Nvidia card do the eyefinty thing?

Cheers

nVidia cards can do nVidia surround (not to be confused with 3D Vision surround) which is similiar to eyefinity... however with nVidia cards you do need 1 GPU for every 2 monitors so you need 2 GPUs for your typical 3 screen setup. Not a big issue tho as a decent 3 screen setup is gonna need more than one GPU for gaming with sensible framerates anyhow.

GTX470 is pretty similiar to the 6870 on balance but at these prices an absolute steal.

It was only a month ago that the cheapest gtx470 was at least £210, maybe £220. So the fact you can get one today for £165 is certainly a bargain.

As said, two of those for £330 is more powerful than a gtx580 and kills the card.

Thats reassuring to hear Greebo:). I actually switched to the single 470 from sli gtx 275's just a few weeks ago, pretty decent setup but i fancied a DX11 card, hope theese new prices last a while till i can scrape the cash together for a second 470. Failing that ill go the second hand route.

EDIT: Yep, i paid £214.00 incl delivery for my gigabyte 470 oc two weeks ago.

Anybody still wondering about whether to go gtx470 SLI, have some results

IMAO > The Boss has hid her plastic money and mine grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

She bending my ear "you and your computer, you spend more on that than you do me"

My reply "At least it never talks back, and l get more enjoyment out of it" :D
LOL, l'm in the dog house, "well at least l'll get peace and quiet for the next few hour's, game on, as l open a can"

im jsut worried about the noise, as i hate a loud card. currently have VF1000 on a 4870 and its super quiet, and couldnt stand it more than that.

should i go for the 470 or wait for possible pricedrops with more stock of the 6870s?

bah, bought the Gigabyte 470 OC on Saturday for £10 more from OCuK.....and I thought that price was a steal...this is just mental!

still getting another 460gtx for SLI thats if there are good deals for them but i agree....2 470gtxs for £330!! still best bang for buck for now,

All of the above are quality psus and are much better than the OcUK 850 watt Crusade quad rail.

We have no info regarding GTX 570, yet.........

Were not clearing stock as I've just had 400 more 470's arrive from Asus, but those are at higher price.

We just doing a very good deal, if we were clearing stocks, then so would all our competitors too, but you don't see them cutting deals like this. :)

sounds like a great deal but also shows how big the profit margin (overpriced) is for retailers.

I wanting to order gtx470 tomorrow wondering what brand the OCuk is ? also whats the best PSU for it in the £50-£60 price range.

its a no brainer really isnt it
2 x gigabyte soc 470 @ 460
v
1 x 580 @ 400 depending on make
