Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

I was led to believe they're pretty bullet proof chassis wise. I quite fancy a V8 SUV as well, so other alternatives are like F Pace SVRs which don't do the SUV bit well enough to turn me on.

Some are pretty classic, tidy examples too, eg:

(it is impossible to find one that it isn't barry'ed).

Might be worth test driving one before getting to carried away with the idea, they dont have the best rear passenger space, but if your not in need of rear seats to often its probably usable. lol that sheikh version has a certain erm quality to it :D
The bullet proof probably comes from there lack of use outside of Mayfair :D

M3Cutters for the BMW as many users chronicle their ownership on it so you can check the history. Not sure about the Benz, but given the choice between an E46 M3 or a C63 it would be difficult to turn down the V8 Benz.

I’ve owned both (albeit W204) and it would be the C63 every time.

I bought the M3 asking on Pistonheads after giving a detailed description of what I was looking for & a friend did the same for me on FaceBook when I bought the C63.

I sold my R32 without advertising it a few years ago through someone getting in touch on the owners forum, so I think it would be worth checking out M3 cutters and other similar enthusiast forums.

I bought a CLC 200k recently and it's my first rear wheel drive car.. Honestly I very alarmed at how little traction the backend has in mildly wet conditions.. My tyres are fine but the lack of weight on the rear end means that at around 40mph in anything slippy the rear will just go light and snap. It's mildly terrifying if I'm honest.

This shouldn't really be the case, what tyres are they?

The something is wrong. I've never broken traction in my 428i with 245PS. Your tyres may be under/over inflated or just bad.

Cheers mate, already on cutters but thought
I'd also try and find a c class or amg type forums aswell

Def confused between pre facelift and pos especially on the coupe and Convertibles, and or all the various options
Premium, premium plus, night pack etc..

On closer inspect the tyres have some grip, maybe not enough..
The tyres are dog do. Accellera or some garbage.. Time to replace them.

It's because it has crap tyres, it'll behave like an entirely different car if you put something decent on.

Stick your tyre size in the tyre thread and people will suggest some decent options at sensible prices for you.

Has anyone on here got an S213 E53 AMG? Debating switching my 530d F10 for one but there doesn't seem that many about - interested to know if there's any major issues with them to be looking out for...

If you’re on FaceBook then seek out the C63 Owners group - the one run by a guy called Boon Kang. It’s a font of knowledge and helpful people. There is a really good pinned post that will tell you loads.

Do I count, just got my EQA 250+ PremPlus, love the car to bits at the min, the tech inside is amazing coming from an audi e-tron. i'll post up a pic.
I know its not got the speed but happy with it for comfort, range and tech.

I do have a weird issue with the new car, when I open the doors after bit of rain, water drips from the corner of the bottom of the doors like it's holding it. do i need to take it in to be seen? (only month old). seen a couple of bits that it maybe seals or a plug needs removing ? or do I leave it ?

I was in Stuttgart last week with the family and we popped down to the MB Customer Center Sindelfingen to have a look. Everyone was super friendly and we got on a factory tour even though we hadn't booked anything as there was still availability.
If any of you MB owners are down there on your travels I'd highly recommend it. Also down the road from MOTORWORLD Region Stuttgart which is always worth a visit.

I’ll be back in this thread soon (if it all goes ahead fine)

I fancied a smarter car after trundling around in the Toyota Alphard for 2 years. Was time to go big or go home!

Yesterday I reserved a 2003 Mercedes SL55 AMG! Black with grey interior, I think it’s the most gorgeous car they designed.

Love it on 18”( or even 17) inch alloys. Cars have gone ridiculous with 20” plus wheels. It’s got an old Nokia mobile built into the elbow rest.

I’ve read up on all the potential issues. This one has had over £10k of mechanical work done recently, it was stood for a while and brought up to a sellable state. Can’t wait!

Here’s a pic of it off the dealer site

Anyone know if the clutch oil can be replaced or does it go bad after many miles? My biting point is terrible. Its very high and very short.

Most people would say that it's the clutch itself but I've pulled away in 4th with zero slip.
