Metal Gear Solid 4 Review Database

Isn't Bioshock going to be on the PS3? I doubt the sales will be anywhere as good as on the 360 and PC.

All I'm saying, even if they do launch it on 360, the sales will be insignificant. Pretty pointless thing to do if they really want to make more profit out of it. And if making profit is their main concern then MGS4 should have simultaneous launch on all platforms.

Square Enix & Team Symphonia haven't 'chosen' anything, it's well known that MS is making certain 'offers' to JRPG developers to get more JRPG's on the 360 to try and get a grip of the Japense market.

Didn't you said installed base will control the sales? But the way I think, the cheaper console gets the purchase.

By the time it arrives in Novemeber on PS3, the majority of people will have already played it on 360 and PC, so how is it expected to sell anywhere near as many copies as it did on 360 and PC, it will be a year old by that time.
 
some people will buy it anyway - never understood that. i played the superior version on the pc anyway. even then people still bought the 360 version after having played it on the pc. what a waste lol

Exactly what I was saying about wedgie comment on MGS4 sales on 360. In fact my thoughts were wedgie + Shamikebab are sharing similiar conclusions since they are commenting on sales. I only added that most ppl keen on MGS4 would have already bought a PS3 and played it by the time it gets to 360 and 360-only-owners are mainly shooter fans.

ok show me your proof that MGS4 will sell well. Don't use the DMC4 and GTA4 example because they are unacceptable. Those games were launched on both platform pretty much the same time while clearly MGS4 isn't the case now.

My evidence will now only based on the time gap of 2 years when MGS2 was launched on the xbox and had little sales. You can scrap off my assumption that majority of shooter fans are on 360. The reason I had that thought was because of the GOW2 VS MGS4 video to show how bad is the shooting experience of MGS4. Also we seen ppl posting that HALO3 is better than MGS4. So I assumed it must be typical 360 fanboys using their all time fav shooter games to talk down MGS4. If MGS4 is also on 360 I wonder if that video would have been made? Also how come nobody does a video of GOW VS HALO3?
 
Firstly I have no idea what video you are talking about, one video hardly indicates that the millions of people all think like that. MGS2 cannot be used as an example because of the differences in userbase between the PS2 and Xbox 1. I have never said that MGS4 will sell well, I have said I believe it would sell based on my own experiences with games released on other platforms later (such as the GTA series from 3 onwards on PC) and also the fact it is a big title. DMC4 and GTA4 are not 'unacceptable' as they are both previously 'Playstation' titles that have succeeded on other platforms, regardless of the release date. I haven't seen anyone on here posting that Halo 3 is better than MGS4. I have seen people posting that MGS4 is better than Halo 3 for, so I think its the Sony fanboys that have it wrong ;)
 
GTA is a game everyone can get into it, MGS is not. Xbox 1 had a huge userbase and MGS2 didn't sell on it. Metal Gear fans are all on playstation. Halo fans are on xbox.

I don't even know how big is the PC gamer base. Can you tell me how it compares with the consoles? I would have imagine it's massive and doesn't GTA started off on PC?

So you were the one who said Halo was better than MGS4. For me MGS4 has much better story i.e. love, hate, sad, funny scenes etc (not sure if Halo has a story and Halo2 ending was !!!!), cinematic experience, has FPS despite not being a FPS game, lots of guns (not my thing but i guess it's for the FPS fans), various creative ideas in the game, online play (for the FPS fans again). I even think that GOW was way better than Halo.
 
I enjoyed GOW more than Halo 3. I only liked Halo 1 out of the series.

Its just a fact that xbox doesn't have a large mgs fan base, mgs2 proved this. It doesn't matter if 360 has a bigger install base, most of those users only bought a 360 for halo. MGS4 would sell on the 360, it just wouldn't do well on the 360.

Can you please stop trying to discuss things that you dont understand. If you look at my post you will see I used an emoticon to indicate it was a joke, the games cannot be compared because they are different genres. I was merely highlighting how idiotic the MGS4 fanboys were being in comparing them. Of course Halo has a story, the fact that you don't know that shows how stupid you are making yourself look trying to talk about the game.
