Metal Gear Solid. The Phantom pain.

So I caved and bought this, but feared I'd get tired of the story not making sense and after just over an hour of prologue my fears are so far confirmed.
I quite enjoyed MGS4 though found it a bit of a drag at times.
Not sure it is better graphics than TW3, needs some serious AA, the hair is awful and shows up jaggies even in 4k and I've never known this to happen. However it does run very well and looks nice, need to put more time in to be fair, will give it a good hammering tomorrow.

Just noticed this on steam if anyone is interested

Changelist:

- Fixed an issue where the settings in the "OPTIONS" > "KEY ASSIGNMENT" menu would revert to the default values when restarting the game.

- Fixed various issues that were resulting in a black or white screen on startup, such as when using a resolution below 1280x720.

I couldnt resist and ended up pulling the trigger on this game for 38 quid. Planned on spending 20 minutes on it before bed. I ended up staying on it for a good 2 hours.

I like what I see so far. Apart from
Those mist creature things, and that guy on fire. I've not played MGS since the very first on. So if someone could explain what the hell these things are it would be great.

One thing I really don't get after playing more- why the hell get Keifer Sutherland in to play Big Boss?!... He barely says a word. Half of the time BB even stays silent when other characters ask him straight questions ffs!

What a waste. I like Sutherland, but don't get this at all. David Hayter was just as good at saying nothing.

Check Metal Gear wiki for Man on fire and Mist/parasite Unit.

Had to look these guys up too as they're pretty weird but interesting characters.

Welcome back to Metal Gear, you don't remember the weirdness from the first one I guess. :-)

How much have you played so far?

Well ended up requesting a refund

Downloaded the full game at 200kbs due to konami screwing over the retail crowd only to find out steam wants me to download the whole 20gb again the next day.

Shame as i am a huge fan of the series, will pick it up again when its dirt cheap.

it was obvious you can upgrade things due to trailers and developers mentioning it but I'll spoiler tag it anyway to avoid spoiling someone's experience.

I'm having trouble...

setting the Grade 2 Heli as my default, even though I upgraded it to grade 2 and paying the GMP, any clues?

Guys, thread is too mahoosive to read through so apologies if this has been covered, but (not tried it myself yet) loads of people seem to be having issues with keybinds, mainly trying to use the numpad (for lefties like me).
What's the crack with this?
I actually remember i couldn't change certain keys in MSG 1, so gave up on it before i started.

I found this setting last night, it's on the iDroid customization setting.

You can change the paint job/camo there as well.

Oooooh, it's there is it, I thought it was bugged, I was in the development part and wondering why I couldn't pick the heli I bought.

I believe you have to be in the heli itself to customise those options, I'll try it later when I get home

Cheers
