Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announced.

really i do not know why anyone buys these games on launch day. wait 6 - 12 months, let the bugs get ironed out and then get on a discount from CDkeys ;)

i am mostly joking but i would happily have put money that the launch of this game was gonna be a mess

Suspect you're all experiencing what I can expect of it with my crappy 20mb connection lmao... Oh well maybe they'll switch back to offline for FS2028 and I can play that, or I'll be able to get decent broadband by then, whichever comes first lmao.

I can get to the menu screen, but I've not actually managed to get into a flight yet. Just non-stop loading ...

Yet, somehow, I've managed to get an achievement for completing my first flight.

h, here's a new message "bandwidth too low...".
After all, I only have a 1Gb fibre connection and live within the M25.

I am also getting this message. I am trying to load into 'free flight' with the A320 NEO at EGSS. I am just stuck on a satellite image screen.

Microsoft have no excuse for this!

More fun for Mr Morph

I managed to load up and I really hope they allow us to locally store the files, rather than just streaming the data as my 80/20 internet is woefully slow for that kind of performance, yet my system itself, isn't too shabby overall.
Controls, via Xbox controller are OK, but it's forever going outside the bounds of my screen on a multi-monitor setup and also goes into random head-look, rather than steering of the plane.

I could get my HOTAS out, but I need the room on my desk at the moment for other work stuff.

This launch is further proof that the infrastructure simply doesn't exist to support cloud streaming at this scale. I'd happily settle for an option to choose a local installation, even if that's a whopping several hundred gigabytes of data.

Looks like I can more easily get to the main menu but the flight doesn't load, others having similar problems so by the look of it maybe tomorrow before it's working. If only they knew a company that had a cloud infrastructure
