How long is it supposed to take to load I to a flight? I've left it for 5-10 mins and it's just constantly loading.

This is exactly where I'm at now. Spinning circle but negligible network activity in task manager so it's not even downloading anything.

Edit: Esc key still works, so it's possible to cancel and try again without actually quitting. Not that doing so seems to help.

OK im a noob pilot in fairness , i played MSFS2020 for a month or two on release but i really needed some sort of missions structure like career mode hence the inclusion this time is very interesting.
I had forgotten all i learned back then so got stuck into training modes at career start but really struggling with Hotas sensitivity.
Its super sensitive with rudder inputs in particular while in flight but not too bad on the ground, its just jerky as hell if you understand.
Ive tried many sensitivity settings and still the same, anyone else having issues?

Got in.
Initial bindings and settings in place.
As you do, of course I tried flying over where I live. Initial thoughts:
- It works (eventually). Binding process is easier
- Recognised all of my USB devices, that's cool
- Plenty of options, though some are not that well explained
- In VR, 7800x3d and 3080ti, was getting just over 30fps, which sounds pap, but was actually fairly smooth, certainly better than 2020
- I was somewhat confused about where the bottleneck was. Task manager was showing all CPU cores in use, probably around 30%. GPU was around 80%. I tried playing with some settings, but even if I pushed the frame rate down to 10fps, none of the CPU cores or GPU was showing maxed out
- Visuals definitely better than 2020. However, still has oddities. e.g. my current settings for trees, made some look awful, whilst others were fine. Buildings don't look as melted, but the textures applied to many are distorted, such that a normal UK house from any distance looked more like it had a thatched roof
- FFB had some feedback, though a lot more testing to be done
- and then it crashed whilst I was trying to play with the visual settings

Managed to start it on the SX. Menus are really sluggish but managed a free-flight and it performs and looks exactly the same with the exception of the photogrammetry or perhaps the streaming was not working. Performed the obligatory flight over home and the roads and streets seem to have generic building placeholder assets. On the SX, the only graphical setting seems to be HDR on/off and although the there is a sub-menu entitled advanced, there is nothing in there to select or change and instead are the words "experimental".

Once your hitting 30 in a flight sim your golden tbh.
Im running it maxed out with raytracing etc 1440P 45 fps minimum in huge cities , going from native to DLSS quiality gives a lovely fps boost 70 fps in New York.
Im finding performance superb 7800X3D RTX4070.
Just got my first career license and about to take on my first job - career mode looks very impressive and exactly what i missed from FS2020.

Does anyone have the standard version? If so how much are the upgrades to higher versions? I can see the upgrades to Deluxe, Premium Deluxe and Aviator are in the MSstore but because I don't have the standard edition it isn't showing any prices. I think it should show if anyone has it installed via gamepass as well.

Also, is the aviator addon available on top of standard or do you have to upgrade to PD first? The Aviator edition available as a complete package is PD + the extra planes.

In 2020 upgrading from one version to a higher one was prohibitively expensive.

I use the Standard Edition through Gamepass and it says Deluxe is £99.99, Premium Deluxe £129.99 and Aviator £199.99.
