Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announced.

Really looking forward to this, I'd like lots of missions and stuff to do, I'd like it on steam using steam servers too, ms's are shocking at times

Hmmm, this is a good shout, never thought of that.

Though recently the updates seems to have down loaded at full speed
 
Looks like a really good amount of improvements over the current version from what I can see, I'll be very interested to see how the performance is in direct comparison though.
 
The landscape looks a lot better, hopefully no trees sprouting in all the wrong places, I wonder what town / city buildings will be like

If all my existing content is meant to come across to 2024 and I have the 2020 Premium can I get access to the 2020 Premium aircraft if I only get the Standard 2024? Guess it's too early to know.
 
Not a good look from MS having an official link to pre-orders that simply dumps you on the current version page, I wonder how many people will attempt to mistakenly purchase the 2020 version.
 
Looks like the high detail ground geometry/textures etc are only going to be in certain small areas looking at various videos. To be expected i guess, be impossible to have every part of the world look half decent when close to the ground.

The difference between the Grand Canyon (great detail up close) and some of the other footage is night and day.

I would happily pre-order if I found a key much cheaper on say cdkeys. Say it was £35 for a steam key to pre order then I would be all for it. Otherwise not interested until I can get it for around £35 on steam. FS2020 will do until then.
 
Annnd that's me out most likely, rubbish internet and I get around 20mps maximum, just don't see it being an enjoyable experience now they've leveraged that in there with no other option.
