Thats right, you paid £350. Doesn't matter how you financed it, you still paid £350
Have you considered other ppl may sell their old hardware too to buy a DX10 card? Whats the difference?
"You have to buy Vista" isn't an argument either because, i dare say, sooner or later you too will be buying Vista.
Erm no i didnt, what are you smoking, i paid £200, someone gave me £150 (not my money) £200 (was my money) therefore i paid £200, is it to hard to understand.
Going by what your saying then, if anyone with an EVGA GX2 uses the step-up programme for a G80, then your trying to tell me that they are still going to be paying £400+ for the G80, erm what a rip off the step-up programme is then if your paying the £400+ still for it, you may as well just buy another brand thats a bit cheaper than EVGA, no point spending the £400+ still if say Leadtek or someone does em for £350, you may as well not bother with the step-up programme and save yourself £50 by buying another brand that is cheaper, step-ups a rip.
As i said when i got a DX9 card DX9 had been out for ages (9800pro was a DX9 card), so how many DX9 games were out, exactly, how many DX10 games are you going to be buying and playing when you get your G80 in Novemeber, answer = 0, why, well because DX10 is not being released for about another 4 months after thats why.
The games that use DX10 look identical to DX9 (take Crysis for instance, identical), so if you have a high end DX9 card, why do you want to pay £400+ for a DX10 card, and £200+ for a copy of Vista to play it identically to what your GX2 plays it under XP.
Yes later on ill probably be buying Vista, and a DX10 card, but thats when DX10 is actually being used more, and doesnt look like DX9 still (ages away yet), if you have a high end card now then there is no point getting a DX10 one, as nothing is using DX10, and by the time it is, and it looks different to DX9 as said, the G80/R600 are going to be well old, and will have been passed by umpteen faster/better DX10 cards, so your only buying another DX9 card really, and if you already have a high end DX9 card as said cutting through DX9 games, then you have wasted your money.
If you have a low end DX9 card that struggles in todays games then yes, G80/R600 will be a cracking upgrade as they will cut through your games no sweat, but i bet when G80 comes out in November it can't cut through Dx10 games as thats going to be impossible for months (which is a long time in graphics cards), the G80/R600 are only going to be worth it for DX9, so if your card isnt hacking DX9 now, then they will be cracking upgrades, just don't expect DX10 games flooding out in droves, and looking different to DX9 for a long while yet as your going to be dissapointed.
Anyway this is off topic, so thats me done.
