It took me six months to get a HOTAS last year, following the launch of the game on PC. Now it's out on Xbox, it could be just as bad (or worse, given there are only two Xbox-compatible sets on the market).

Damn, thought so, patience it is then, there's some scalped ones on eBay for £150 quid, but they can go whistle.

Is this the only jet you can buy in the game? I looked through the free ones and it's mainly propeller planes and a couple of airliners.

I know there is a Top Gun free plane coming out at some point (I guess when the movie releases), but was wondering if there is anything else in the same speed category.

I think so, lots of the others were marked as PC only.

Like I said, it was pretty much free via rewards points. Not sure I would have dropped hard earned on it. It's too fast to take any of the scenery in

I thought that said 24k ft, and I think space starts at 100km.

24k ft is 73km so actually it’s short. Some people say it starts at 80km which is what Brandson did.

Unfortunately not, plus they also added the cavaet since Bezos went up to say "it needs to advance or help Human civilisation" or some sorts so merely reaching a height don't count anymore

EDIT: You're right, i couldn't select it lastnight as i had Live players turned on

Question...if I buy a plane, can I fly that from any airport? or are they restricted? like you can't physically fit a 737 on a smaller airfield for example.

Nah you can fly them from anywhere (or at least try) its part of the fun; although getting a 747 to take off from a grass strip is a challenge!

Amazing, i might have the splurge and get a Euro Fighter just for the speed to get around the game faster.
