*** Microsoft Windows 11 Thoughts & Discussion Thread ***

Anyone had an issue with the taskbar hiding with games running (but tabbed out in a browser etc). Clean install of Windows 11 from about 2 weeks ago. Its really irritating :o

Installed a clean Windows 11 Pro on two systems today 10yr old Shuttle XPC and 5yr i7 6700K had to use a simple hack to get pass Microsoft stupid Cpu / TPM restrictions and kept Windows 10 Pro on separate SSD on each rig.
Had zero problems installing or with any drivers everything just worked but not started gaming yet.

Need to read up on this thread now for useful Info.

Was you able to setup a local accounts or did you have to use a Microsoft account?

I upgraded my PC last year. New MB Ram CPU etc... Didn't do a fresh install. But I've had some issues since.. Bluetooth not working unless I restart. Windows slow to open (Ie clicking should open a new window).

Would an win 11 update be pretty much a new install??

I'm waiting the update too and hoping it is a reinstall, as I have issues with random crashes. It seems there will only be one release per year, unlike Windows 10 where there were two. Some of the early Win 10 updates were a complete reinstall but latter ones were less so IIRC. I guess we will see.

Not exactly, but nothing stopping you creating a install media and doing a fresh install of 11.

If you have problems currently on win10 I'd do a fresh win11 install personally. I've been on the same install for years but never had probs so I just did an upgrade, in your case deffo fresh install imo, you will have to reinstall all of your programs of course.

I upgraded to Windows 11 on day 1 but soon rolled back because of soundblaster ae5 driver issues.

About 3 weeks ago I reupgraded and this time everything seems to have worked....

I dont think creative have officially released a driver update yet.....

I'll probably be running it all like this in 2022 and upgrading the whole pc in 2023 of the world and prices are calmed down.

4080rtx? Who knows

Constantly have problems with the Windows 11 taskbar not running when my PC boots. The only way to get it working is to restart Windows Explorer in Taskmanager. None of the 'fixes' online work, has anyone else experienced this? It's an upgrade install from Windows 10, I have rolled back a few times as this taskbar thing is a pain.

i get this after wake from sleep. teh web is rife with similar reports. Seems since last update

My one gripe with windows 11 is the removal of some items from the right click context menu which now involves an extra click to show everything that windows 10 had. Also not to keen on the copy/paste remame icons now used with the context menu. Other than that pretty happy with it.

The right click appears the same as windows 10 for me...?
