*** Microsoft Windows 11 Thoughts & Discussion Thread ***

Why are they being so strict about it? It's very puzzling, many PC gamers don't run cutting edge hardware, we on here are in the minority .

They're trying to be like Apple, except stipulating the specs of PC's they don't build. It would be fine for them to be poncey about their own hardware that they've branded but it's a joke stipulating such requirements for everything else.

This the same people I read on Neowin and other tech sites saying for years... "omgz you still on that old OS? get with the times" "Luddites on their old OS's." "It's because of people like you tech is held back when Microsoft cannot focus resources on other areas."

Don't get me wrong, I'll upgrade, but that's because I have a clue about hardware and have been aware of things like TPMs since 2015. This day was always going to come and the full benefit of W10 with a UEFI was a clear indicator. I just don't understand people who bemoan progress. If you must upgrade to W11, then upgrade your system if it needs it. Simple.

I will upgrade when I want to upgrade thanks, never said I was going out to buy new hardware. If you cant tell why I'm annoyed I am not going to explain it as I consider you to be a troll with your reply.

Also TPM and Bitlocker... yeah ok you keep going doing it the way you want. Yeah I'm well aware its not requirement for it but if you don't know why you really should use both together I'm not going to tell you.

To be clear as well this is my only reply to you as I have you now on ignore as you tried to invalidate my view point rather than engage and change it, just so you're 'aware'.

Haha, ok boomer. You're that guy. If ever there was a millennial way to deal with things, it's this.

It's probably not a good thing to have TPM in W11, it will only make them more complacent to test their code before introducing more vulnerabilities which Linux doesn't seem to suffer to the same extent, without having to freeze a whole swath of hardware out from being viable.

GN doesn't like TPM 2.0 and Online registration.

TPM 2.0 he's more forgiving on and understands why Microsoft is doing it. But he absolutely hates forced online install and user account creation

MS seems to have completely forgotten, or just don't care, that the core purpose of an OS is to enable the end user.
