*** Microsoft Windows 11 Thoughts & Discussion Thread ***

No TPM needed and CPU does not need be on list but you can not change Branches (some will not let you install Win 11 due to your Spec) I am already in DEV so lucky I can still test till RTM.

Reminds me of Apple. Like Metal.

Just having play with Windows 11 on my clean SSD and so far no bugs but some of the features has gone including windows activation status (where is it?)

Found it now! It say Activated with digital license

Insider version installed, and other than the GUI the most noticeable changes are the lack of changes you can make to the taskbar

Those looking for the newest build can find it on UUP dump. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to it or not, but just Google the site name and it's the first result for me.

There are two x64 versions, so I don't know which to choose. Can somebody help?

Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22000.51 (co_release) amd64
or
Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (10.0.22000.51) amd64

Edit:
Looks like it's Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22000.51 (co_release) amd64, as Windows 11 (10.0.22000.51) amd64 has missing files.

Not surprised, but my under £10 official Asus TPM discreet chip I ordered a few days back has "been delayed".

Seriously doubt I'll get it at all at the price I paid, but we'll see. Looks like I'll just have to use the firmware TPM on my ROG Z390 after all.

Are there are any downsides to using the firmware TPM? I ask as I'll probably end up doing this.

One thing I really like in Windows 11 is that the stupid shake to minimise Windows is disabled out of the box. One of the most ridiculous and annoying features in Windows that I'm glad to see turned off.
