Don't understand teh rush to install these beta builds, you won't be able to upgrade to release build in October so just seems like a waste of time with added bugs :p

Most are using secondary pcs or in my case secondary gaming boot. On release I will probably fresh install anyway. Have been using it a week or so for gaming and had only minor issues, it's quite stable so far.

I just stuck it on a laptop to try it out, it's good to mess with an OS before you try it out properly. A few niggles here and there but as above it's mostly stable for my uses.

I am trying win11 again, (upgraded from 10 to 11)) and I have 3 problems, windows wont sleep automatically but will manually,,,,, the fingerprint reader will settup to use "windows hello" but wont wont work after its setup,,,,, and I can't left click the clock to bring up the calender(only right click works)

Also is there anyway to get the win10 startmenu to popuo in the center of the screen, and has anyone found a alternative for toolbars on the taskbar.

I could maybe almost live with the 11's Start menu and finally move away from the Windows 7 style, although I would still miss it. But I'd want a way to disable the recommended section at the bottom, or have better customisation of it.

I'd miss my Quick Launch toolbar too, which I've used since the days of XP. I like that it helps keep the desktop clear.

Well I have gone back to win10 again,, and tobe honest it was bliss to go back having it all working and just the way I like things, instead of making do,,, But I was the same with win7 to win10, it took quite a while to get use to and now Im praising win10 over win11. But Im guessing win 11 will be better when its released and I will try it again once its been released and few more times before aswel no doubt..

Open-Shell works without any problems if you want the win7 start menu, accept you have to have to use a custom start button or make your own for it to work properly.

But on win10 Im really liking having the start button to the left with the tasks in the middle (using "Centre Taskbar") instead of the start button also being in the centre... Not forgetting the wonderful taskbar toolbars and quick launch in win10 that win11 doesn't allow anymore.

Can you now have the Lock Screen Windows Spotlight daily picture as a desktop background that also updates each day?
You can install "Bing wallpaper" which has daily refresh. but they are not the same images as "spotlight".

actually whilst i'm here, anyone know how to turn off the calendar popup under notifications?
also whats a good dock to replace taskbar?

Thanks, it was rumoured that they'd be introducing spot light to the desktop background but maybe it's for the 21H2 W10 release. I have the bing one but would be nicer to have spot light built in.

Hope they do, seems like a logical step to me.

Think I'm going to re enable Windows 10 start menu, the 11 start menu isn't useful at all, it's just recent documents + list of programs, no organisation what so evoh.
