*** Microsoft Windows 11 Thoughts & Discussion Thread ***

Been running this since the day the dev build was released and its mostly stable. The only problems I have is:
Event viewer is broken, mouse hit box is messed up.
Task bar does not show icons on second screen.
I removed some drivers in device manager and then scanned to re-add them as it seemed to have duplicates. Over all I like it.

Been running on my XPS13 since release, just updated to the latest build also. Really had no major issues at all. The centre start menu is fine. I only ever use the start menu for search anyway.

A few annoying little things like no key shortcuts on the Win+X menu, but nothing too bad.

Update came out today which i believe fixes these, at the very least the second screen issue is supposed to be fixed

I've been running this on my main PC and I'm sure my gaming experience is better, for one I am not getting the glitch in warzone where the resolution drops to 66% randomly.
All good so far.

Mine updated last night, start menu now has the search bar and the lag in file explorer I was having is gone, sure there are a ton of other fixes but thats all I noticed!

Im thinking about sticking with win10 as there no real improvements over 10.. I'll be downgrading myself moving to 11, because the startmenu and taskbar is more or less useless in win11, I hate the stupid 2 menu thing on the context right click menu.. Why oh why cant MS improve OS's instead of making everyone a little bit harder to use, as we have gone backwards ever since win7. And I have just got use to win10 and bang they they go bringing another OS out thats harder to use than the previous version...

Probably to make it more "mobile like" at the expense of the desktop experience.

Only problems Ive got is when you put the taskbar (reg edit) on the top the start menu drops form the top left corner, whereas search drops from the centre.

also, NordVPN not working with 11 - refuses to connect

They made that mistake before. Lets hope they don't do it again.
So yeah I might stick with window10 unless MS stops newer versions of Directx for win10 or something like that will force us gamers to use win 11...

But atm Im extremely happy with win10, something I thought Id never say about win10, but its made me realise how good 10 is compared to 11, having tried it twice now for a good few hrs... But I have everything setup perfectly in 10 with the taskbar, start menu(with the program tasks in the middle) and microsoft not updating and stuff unless I say it can, so I can trust it with 48+hr 3d prints, and plus my old SCSSI LTO tape drive works aswell(think it does in win11 aswel).... Win10 is just a rock solid reliable os for me and I never thought id be saying that either after hating it for the first year or 2 when it came out.....

Plus I use it as a media sever aswel, so it needs boot up fast, so sleep is my shutdown, so it only gets rebooted once a week, and I can still rely on it not to let me down with 3d printing or any other task.. And Ive always got music videos playing, as I have the space now todo so with my 49" screen, instead of just listening to music. uyCRsQX.jpg

Hmm, anyone elses monitors not sleeping? Set to 10 minutes but they are not sleeping....

Mine is all messed up, from control panel I have only the balanced plan allowable, and using the "Settings App" I have a selection which doesn't seem to work. settings app crashes going into the power settings as well. Buggy i guess!
