Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

yeah it is, I just wish there was a perk that allowed for more time in that mode. At times, you dont even get chance to move the analogue stick into the circle let alone hitting the button. So far I've not seen any perk that improves that ability.

Playing with mouse and keyboard makes it an absolute doddle.

Just added you. Hopefully you can give me some interesting Uruks to fight, I'm getting a little bored now I've got decent runes and unlocks of being able to storm a Warchief without pruning his bodyguards first.

Finished the story now (won't spoil it but the mechanics of the last section are disapointing beyond belief) so I'm stuck running around the map playing with the Nemesis system and unless I start gimping my character on purpose it seems I need to sit hammer the advance time button just to get a challenge.

Had this since release and though there is a lot to like - best emulation of the Arkham combat, nice animations - the utter monotony of the gameplay and environment combined with atrocious ai is killing it for me.

you wait ;) i had bunch around 10 captains fight me and died they went from lvl 7 to like 13.... Then power struggled & one go to strong I couldn't not face him. i have maxed out my sword bow & dagger and could really touch him

the game gets more diffcult as you progress but jump on your sometimes....

if you die more often it gets harder too.

In a new area now all i can say & it looks beautiful! i feel much better than crysis in some places :)

Doesn't really answer my question and it contradicts your original statement. You said you've got level 40 war-chiefs, I point out they seem to cap at 20 and then you respond about them jumping from lvl 7 to 13. So what's the crack?

Only had a few hours to play so far and to be honest no idea what's going on! I was expecting an RPG but seems more like one of the Batman games combat wise so far, just left clicking and pointing mostly :p Killed a few captains and chased Gollum but really no idea where I am or what I'm doing. Is there a manual or something I should read first?

erm there a story but not a good one that ive found so far. you basically wanting to kill the stop you know who :p

killing captains allows smaller enemies to higher up the chain higher the power lvl of the enemy harder they are to kill but bigger rewards. if you die they will get stronger with more stats. you need to get intel to find out there weaknesses.

i had one captain who i couldn't touch his only weaknesses was fire or explosives. when you have none around you can be quite challenging

imagine it be like the real miltary if X private kills X enemy he could be promoted. In this 99% they are. & new enemies lvl up there spot. i styioll yet to see the same captain twice after 20+ hours & always new funny names & dialogues :D

13 hours in and only 30% completed, just running around killing orcs, doing side missions and collecting artifacts etc..

Still really really enjoying it :)

17 hours for me apparently to finish the whole thing.

Ending:
Very open ended, I assume that they are continuing the story in the DLC's since they mentioned something about killing Sauron in one of the DLC's?

Overall very good game, definitely one of my favourites this year.

I am really enjoying this game but I have a couple of captains who are a right pain to take out. For example one who is an archer who is immune to executions, immune to stealth, and fires explosive arrows that more or less one shot me. He is level 20 and kills me every time I see him. He is not immune to ranged but I can get him down to about 50% at best with my 8 arrows at the moment.

The other who is only level 13 or so but is a spear thrower who is also immune to executions, immune to ranged, and poisons me all the time. Right pain!

For the most part I am really enjoying the game but the immunities the captains can get can make taking on certain captains a really rough experience, upping the difficulty ridiculously from when you fight normal mobs and captains.

Use your surrounds or go for them when they attack others when you grab the jump stun its solo much easier also use cargos to your advantage there was one capatain who I could go near for ages....... Just take your time and lvl up

I'm finding the combat in this a real challenge - I've never struggled with the Batman games before but things here seem to be taken to an extreme, sometimes the waves of orcs seem absolutely endlessly and fights drag on past the point of being enjoyable.

Rids, I found running off from the hectic battles helped and then luring a few orcs to you, e.g. left trigger and 'Y'.

A couple of times I found myself too proud to backtrack and had my ass handed to me! :D

I very much doubt killing, possibly a fight...given that we know Sauron is alive after the events of the game (supposedly takes place between the hobbit and LOTR) and only dies after the one ring is destroyed :p. I would assume it is a flashback where celebrimbor fights sauron, though this is obviously being very loose with the lore
