Yep, arrows just shatter when they hit him, even headshots, and if I stealth attack him, he catches me in mid-strike and laughs in my face. I should get a screenshot of strengths - it's basically a list of the ways I like to kill orcs
His only weaknesses are flies and combat finishers. The one time I got him alone, I almost finished him - otherwise his entourage of a dozen or so, some of which are shield bashers, always get in the way (or give me a loving slap while I'm fighting him) - between that, and the fact he always interrupts me fighting someone else, or catches me half dead mean I've only come close the once.

Either way the dodge and wraith stun is a viable option as this is how I beat ones such as that.
Yeah, I agree. It is just too samey to be considered a great game. I am enjoying it, and would recommend it to anyone, but tbh after your first fight you have pretty much played the whole game!...and the actual missions are atrocious. The game seriously needs more inventiveness with it's gameplay(and story).
although would prefer they hired Divinity OS's story/script people
Seriously?...I liked Divinity, but the script and story are awful!

I actually thought the missions were a lot more varied than Assassins Creed III.
My god these missions are infuriating. Think I will just kill captains a bit and forget about them now tbh. So sad to see so many forced-failure states in games nowadays. I really hope it is just a phase. You didn't find it at all 5 years ago.
yeah pretty easy, been using a PS3 controller on pc via 'motioninjoy' software (probably alternatives around but it works for me). pretty much explains it:

once you set it up, you don't need to be running the software while playing games.
only snag is games are setup for the 360 controller, rather than ps3, so you need to remember where the 360 'X' 'Y' 'B' & 'A' buttons are while using the ps3 controller, since those are the prompts you get onscreen - can be a problem when your health's just about run out, the screen prompt is 'A' & you can't remember the corresponding button to press
other than that it's fine 34hrs in and 72% through it so far. Getting a ton of quality gameplay that makes up for the drab rubbish that was Assassins Creed 3 & 4, the latter of which was a eavesdropping sim outside of superb ship combat.
Have to admit the Nemesis system is just brilliant but Monolith should have expanded on the world a little more and added small towns that you have to defend against orcs etc. It can be quite a lonely feeling with just Talion vs Orcs all the time. Enjoying the lore element too with the collectables.

This is really strange, just had someone kill a captain via a vendetta mission for me. The thing is, they aren't on my friends list, infact it has now happened twice in the last 20 minutes, both times they weren't on my friends list..
Anyway, still a fantastic game, only got one of the ithiras to get and that is deep in a dark tunnel, and we all know what is in there

I've spent days doing only vengeance missions and I've only seen two names that are on my steam friends list - the rest I have never met at all. It would be nice if there was a better reward incentive to do those missions though - for the victim too.
Errm, 15 hours in and I have just done one of the man missions marked on the map.... And it was a tutorial on how to ride Caragors... I've been doing that right from the start of the game!
If you are on the second map, then it is a different tutorial and is part of the main mission.
I thought it was only friends that were shown on vendetta missions?
As did I but I am not so sure anymore. I certainly don't know the vast amount of victims whose deaths I have avenged that's for sure.

I have no idea what I am doing guys lol.
I keep trying to go for my first objective on the first mission but get intercepted all the time no matter how stealthy I am trying to get there.
