Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

It wasnt me that found out I think it was Durante from neogaf. But yeah it should work with any game that supports borderless windowed mode. You can even turn off the in game vsync because its the default windows vysnc that overides it.

As I found out earlier though, it will also stop crossfire from working if you have it.

played about 2hrs of this game....

ill be honest i think its crap.

its a rip off of Assassins Creed essentially but not as polished. Probably worth buying for like £10 on sale but not at full price.

It rips off the gameplay elements from Assassins creed that work and adds more fun.

Like you can climb pretty much anything in seconds. Combat is stolen from Arkham Asylum/City but even that's a bit better because your man doesn't slide across the screen like there's ice everywhere.

It's basically streamlining gameplay elements that work, putting it in a Lord of the Rings setting and then adding the Captains/Nemesis system.

getting a crash ingame when fighting the white graug on the 2nd map :(

tutorial window pops up and then you cant close it, either kicks me on to desktop or doesnt do anything. anyone had this or know of a way to fix it?

Yeah, I'm about halfway through the story in this one now but I don't see me finishing it, I just find it far too repetitive.

Think this is another one of those games like Just Cause 2, where most people absolutely love it and I sit there wondering what all the fuss is about.

Well, I enjoyed playing it right up until the last 4 main missions..

Far too easy. I just don't get when it was harder to kill some of the captains than it was the harder enemies at the end :(

The control system is actually very frustrating, and there are many times the character does the wrong thing, ie: climbs when you don't want him to climb, or doesn't drop when you want him to drop. Also when you run into scenery you just stop, instead of contextually moving around it.

I would say the control system is by far the most annoying thing I have found about this game.

Having played Assassins Creed, AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations, AC3 and ACIV: Black Flag I can safely say the controls are no worse than those games. In fact they are probably better.

I play on a control pad though and found the controls to be quite fluid.

Nothing wrong with the controls tbh if you're familiar with the AC series. I certainly had no issue using a controller as I find them more fluid for games of this type.

Just finished it with 40hrs played. Had a complete blast all the way through. Combat is superb and bloody, the cinematics were stunning and the superb nemesis system is something that I believe will be copied by other titles in future now. At the 60% completion mark I switched to a new GPU that led to me having the 'frame rate' bug, still managed to get to the end regardless.

Ukbuk the Ugly will remain my main lovable nemesis as he appeared in the final battle to try and chalk one up against me. Sadly in the chaos of the battle he got mauled by a wild Caragor :D

7338 kills, 18 deaths, 6 of which were to Ukbuk according to the iOS app. The end missions aren't the best put it that way, they feel rather rushed.

In 2 minds whether to make a decision on this! Doesllook really stunning but is the game as good as the graphics?

I would recommend this to anyone, the story is actually not too bad considering the competition they were up against..

Graphics are great, and I was constantly pulling over 100fps on my 7950 x2 with no slow down etc.

Some of the quests are a bit samey, but the combat and the different approaches to can take to each fight overcomes that in my opinion.

If you can pick it up off of one of the cdkey sites for cheaper than steam, then it is a no brainer. I completed the storyline at 70% complete and I still go one to try and do the side missions while I am waiting for the season pass to drop a bit in price.

Gameplay is good, if you like Assassins Creed then you will fit right in for the most part. Combat is fast and consists of pressing a button to counter and so forth.

Mordor itself is a dank, dreary place with grey and brown tones everywhere. Expect the gameplay to consist of a lot of combat, hunting Urk Captains/Warchiefs and running from Caragors. The Nemesis system and the voice acting is just top notch, as is the cinematics - damn WB can produce a movie at this rate.

The worst thing about the game imo is that aside from what I mentioned above, there is little else. No towns, or NPC's (outside of missions) to interact with - it's just you and a ton of orcs/caragors/captains and pesky hoomans.

Is anyone playing this with mouse +kb? I don't have a working pad and am not going to buy one for one game.

Sounds similar to Batman, which I played fine with m+kb, is it?
