Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Keyboard and mouse is awesome, makes what is an easy to play game simply fun. :D Thing is this really is made for gamepad, but is so much easier for us KB/M people!

If anyones thinking of picking this up you can get it for £22.50 on greenmangaming with code - p65pw6-f9b91d-tw2ag2

Think the code expires tomorrow.

I've just started to play this tonight. I got over to Ratbag and started the mission. I saved the guys from killing him, and followed him to the next part which is to find the other guy undetected.

I quit the game and when I go back, I have to start it all over again! WTF!

How do I save progress?

You couldnt of finished the Ratbag quest fully, it's in sections so if you quit out half way through you have to start from the beginning again.

I feel your pain mate. Borderlands 2 was the same, you can only play if you have over an hour to dedicate to a mission and the conventional save stations (including the damn save symbol) aren't really save stations but respawn locations. Got old real fast.

Approximately how long does it take to complete each mission in this game and what's the indicator to tell you it's saved? I am considering picking this up but... depends.

Most of the missions are 20-30 minutes maximum, especially later on once you get more powers. By that point you are pretty much unstoppable as you only need to string together 2-3 hits and you then have two "finishers" to use, just brand the first few orcs and they will fight for you.

Just finished, 93% in 25 hours and other than the last hour or so which was a bit of a let down it is a cracking game. A couple of the forced stealth sections were a tad annoying but not enough to detract that much and they did suit the game.

I expect we'll see a lot of games copying the nemesis system, although will be interesting to see how they do it since it only really makes sense if the lead character is immortal (or has great health cover).

I'll certainly keep an eye on the planned DLC and may pick it up too just to encourage the devs/publishers to do a sequel.

Yeah think I have took 2 steps back from the game, was close to getting it.. But sometimes I don't have hours to spare due to work but really does sound fun! !

The end of each mission is denoted by that pop-up telling you what rewards you get, and telling you about a new mission on the map. Also you won't have any highlighted area on the map. If you want to check, I think attempting to fast travel should give you an "are you sure?" prompt, but maybe test that before relying on it.

Most side missions can be done in 10 mins, main missions is make sure you have 30 to avoid feeling rushed.

You don't need hours at a time to appreciate this game. I'm fairly confident that when you Quick Travel, the game saves. So every time I want to log out, I travel to a white tower and then I leave. I've not had any issues with it.

I mentioned way back in this thread that killing orcs would get boring, fast. I was wrong. I still enjoy killing orcs...and I finally got my immune to everything except flies and explosions guy - with poison, an explosion and then multiple running downs from Caragor-back (otherwise his healing and combat master made it so tough to break him down). What a nightmare! And then next two Warchiefs have the same weaknesses. The game hates me :D

just got this game, spent an hour just rushing in fighting huge crowds of orks and captains and dying lots.

all i have succeeded in doing so far is levelling low level captains to much higher ones, lol.

might look into what i'm actually supposed to do tonight.

It does look like it is iPad only as I can't see it on the iPhone section on the appstore. It is a very good app, quite similar to the AC: Black Flag app. Lots of stats and mission reports etc.
