Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Started this yesterday and absolutely loving it, but I have 1 gripe! Perhaps it's because I'm having to force SLI as it's not naturally supported but performance seems so random at times. I play with Vsync on and I can be fighting a load of Orcs in an absolutely gorgeous local and maintain 60fps, but then I'll be fighting 2 or 3 Orcs in a barren part of the map and my fps will come crashing down to 30-40

Any one else using SLI or Crossfire have this problem?

I'm unable to run Crossfire at all, so I've had to disable it again. I can run the ultra texture pack on one card, I just get slowdown in some large fights/scenes.

One aspect I don’t get about this game is the fast forward bit when you press z.

I was hunting down some orcs who where bodyguards of a war chief, I wanted to fast travel and pressed z by mistake......

All this did was level up the orcs I was hunting making them harder to kill and also some of them got promoted to war chiefs themselves.

When would you actually WANT to use this game play feature??

1) If you have a particularly successful rampage and kill all the champions and want some new ones.
2) If you have a champion 'working for you' and you want to level him up a bit
3) Higher level enemies drop higher level (more powerful) runes.

That explais it then.

I dont actually know how to get them to work for me yet.

I know who to dominate them pressing E, but how do i get them to work for me?

Or even get info out of 'worms' i.e the orcs with intel?

I missed the tutorial on interrogation and had to look it up.

XB360 pad - it's press "A" once you've grappled them.

In terms of recruitment, it will come with story advancement.

It's great for chasing down fleeing captains you dont necessarily want to kill, or closing down on worms to interrogate.

He was talking about advancing time, not shadow strike.

Later on in the game it can actually be advantageous to let them level up.

Was hoping the latest update would fix my ongoing issue with crashing framerates at random moments with a R9 290 gpu - nope :(

I have just fired up Middle Earth to check if SLI is now working.

I still only have one 970 running, do I need to do anything to enable SLI?

I know I am a bit late but played this game last week and really enjoyed it. Completed in around 36 hours total. Spent ages trying to defeat all of the first area's army but realised they just promote people

Great graphics. Used the widescreenfix program to sort the awfully close third-person view and set to 150% graphics

Story was awesome

In the second area, you'll probably need this if you kill people by accident
