Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

I think it comes down to personal choice really as the game to me seems like a more hollow version of assassins creed/arkham mash up.

There needs to be more story and interactivity with characters, Going to mission points to start something followed by a 30 second cut scene *Which look oddly grainy and low quality* seems very cheap to me, Just feels too instanced.

It's hopefully a start to a franchise which will only get better. Combat and the nemesis system are brilliant.

Yeah, the story isn't hugely deep but it's good.

I think it has all the ingredients for an amazing game, but they haven't quite all come together. As it is, it's a solid and enjoyably good game.

Every time I target an Orc, I seek him out and get tore in. However, after a few slashes of my trusty sword there's about a dozen of them getting tore in about me. It just seems to get a bit overwhelming.

Am I missing a strategy here, or is this just how it is?

The more unlocks you get the easier it gets. When you get "Shadow Strike" you are pretty much able to take out everything with relative ease.... It's good fun.

Put 7 hours straight into this yesterday (the shame!). It's... decent though. Feels waaaay too much like they took AC and put it in a different setting, tweaked a couple of game systems and called it done.

How are folks finding the chieftain shield dudes with the "can't be vaulted" ability. They seem a liiiitle tricky to handle (certainly the worst combination I've seen so far. I've actually taken to using whatever focus time I get ranging shield bearers so there's less chance 1 gets lucky somewhere and I got a new shield-boss to deal with).

Someone suggested the stun + rapid attacks was the way forward? Will be giving that a try next time.

Stun and rapid attacks, also keep an add nearby to vault over should you need to get out of the way quickly while maintaining your combo.

I once had to fight someone that was immune to ranged, stealth and combat finishers. That was an interesting fight, went on for ages.

I played through the game with ultra textures on a single gtx 970 @ 1440p without issue. Just set ambient occlusion to high and run in a border less window.

So my results at 1200p (3570k + 970 all at stock):

Everything Max with Ultra Textures:

Average 67
Minimum 30

Everything Max with High Textures:

Average 67
Minimum 40

---

Although Everything Max with Ultra Textures was playable, sometimes when I quickly panned the camera it would have a small hitch.

So I am using the High textures instead.

Totally seperate topic. Should I overclock my CPU?

Anybody had an issue with SLI on this

running on a single 980 was perfect, i added a 2nd 980 and all was fine but all of a sudden today it felt sluggish in places

Not sure if its SLI or G-Sync or the latest nvidia drivers,
