Middle Earth: Shadow of War

Oh nice, I wondered what that patch was about. I better finish it for Platinum. Even though I've completed all the stories except the Bright Lord.

I'm actually glad I never destroyed my Warchiefs and everyone else on the PS4. As it was very tempting before the new year just to kill them all.

I'm not really surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised. In all honesty I expect most games will at least have it discussed by developers and publishers. It remains to be seen what sort of stuff we're talking. Cosmetics I can handle. Weapons, Runes etc? Won't be happy. Missions? Meh there was a season pass in the previous game.

My Post from the console section:

I dont care, and frankly a bunch of you-tubers doing their outrage of the week videos for views, and people bitching on reddit isn't going to effect me buying this.

Same as shortcut packs in other games (Battlefield has done it for ages, Burnout paradise did it), If you want to take a shortcut and ruin the game for yourself then you can, I dont and wont.

Still looks like an amazing game.

Move on to the next Faux shock and horror news item, "wont somebody think of the children"

The original is on a free weekend on Steam if you haven't played it yet.

I've not got around to playing the original. I heard that the mechanics and some aspects of the game design are reminiscent of Mad Max that came out around the same time. Is that true?

I've heard that also but haven't played mad max. I enjoyed the open world of the first Shadows game though.

Sadly the world was never that big which let me down. Loved the long routes in the caves though but I guess things become small once you're familiar with the area. :/

I wish games could become so big you will get lost even if you know the area. Imagine a time in game development trees can grow take on new forms, shrubbery, grounds collapse and an ever changing environment but with some old familiar looks of old ruins. At the same time some parts are familiar while other parts throw your memories off.

Apparently the community challenges are to kill those NPCs that killed "fellow rangers", which I take it to mean those you have added on steam?
So, it's not just online for (stupid) loot crates?
