Midweek Football *SPOILERS* 3/4 March

Barca are a shoe-in for the CL IMO. They are clear favourites for a reason.

manyoo could be considered as close to them right now, the other of the so called big 4 I don't believe could be.

They're not going to win the CL (big shout :p) I think we saw with Real how poor the standard in La Liga is, Barca are very good, but they're not as good as their domestic form makes out.

EDIT - I wouldn't be THAT surprised if Lyon knocked Barca out, they weren't exactly great in the 1st leg :/

"Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce has urged referees to keep an eye on Everton midfielder Tim Cahill. Allardyce claimed Cahill is "clever" in the way he uses his body to gain an advantage in the penalty area without conceding free kicks."

What next, moaning that someone uses superior speed or height?

I'm not saying they will, I'm saying they're favourites for a reason. Form this year:

Arsenal - poo
Liverpool - poo
manyoo - good (won a cup, clear at the top of the league)
Chelsea - poo until very recently

Oh, and I'd bet on Lyon beating Arsenal right now. Liverpool too if they carried their league form into CL footy but they generally fare better there than they do domestically.

Have you seen Arsenal in the CL this season? I am an Arsenal fan and I have seen every game this season, I'm also reasonable so I can acknowledge Arsenal are NOT good this season, but I have to say, it's like watching an entirely different team in the CL and I wouldn't put it past them to beat any European team this season (outside of the EPL, even then they've beat Man Utd and Chelsea)

Barca are in free-fall at the moment. How many points were Real Madrid behind a few games ago? 13? They're now about 4 points behind.

There's a very good chance the the last two managers sacked by Spurs are going to end up winning national titles!

Way too much hubris from English fans in the CL, you'd think it was a foregone conclusion that an English team will win. Man U aren't even through yet, nor Liverpool, nor Chelsea. Only Arsenal are guaranteed to go through, at the moment, it seems.

07/08- Man U
06/07- Milan
05/06- Barca
04/05- Liverpool
03/04- Porto
02/03- Milan

In bold are the non-English teams to win the CL in recent years, hardly English domination. :p

Barca have lost the last two games, one against Atletico and one against Espanyol with only ten men, its only a blip not really disastrous form.

Barcelona have stumbled in the league, Real Madrid have upped the pace. ( I think they've take 30 points from a possible 30 points )

Barcelona will have to start wining again if they want to win the League, however when they decide to play football there are very few teams that can withstand the pressure of their attacks.

Adebayor is probably good enough for Barcelona, He's a good player.
Question isn't if he's good enough or if he wants to go, but why Barcelona would want him, given their attacking options.

5 of the last 8 finalists have been English, not to mention countless semi-finalists. You're always going to get a few other clubs challenging but over the last few seasons we're the only country that have had more than 1 side seriously challenge for the CL. Last season, no 'European' side knocked an English side out of the CL too.

Out of interest, why do you think Arsenal are already through?

Arsenal aren't through but I think they have a pretty good chance as Walcott, Eduardo and Ade will be back by then which should be quite a boost. I know Roma are apparently better at home but they really offered nothing at the Emirates, can't see them changing into a different team because they're at home :/

Arsenal won 2-0 away from home didn't they? Or maybe not, can't remember. :p

You'd be surprised by how many teams across the world play better at home.

Roma are a good side, and are good at home. Arsenal may have be a goal up but will need to be very good to get past Roma ;)

Utd may have destroyed Roma a few years ago 7-1 in the second leg at OT - but the first leg was a very tough game (which I think Roma won 2-1)

They might not be the same team today - but still easily able to knock Arsenal out after such a narrow defeat at the Emirates

can't wait to be destroyed by Man U tonight, hopefully can snatch a draw but I don't think so

I don't think we'll be destroying anything tonight. I was disappointed by MOTD after reading your comments on Nicky HeadButt, they didn't show anything. He's a bit of a nutter off the field too or maybe he's calmed down as he's gotten older.
