adebayor playing consistantly upfront has more assists than a player whose had more injuries, had most likely less than half the playing time, hows that good. Also remember that Denilson has played maybe more than anyone else(clichy/sagna/Ade maybe more) and has about the same record as Eboue whose played WAY less than him. I think Song has scored 1 maybe, any assists at all? terrible record and he appears to play the less defensive role when paired with Denilson and has all season. THats right a supposedly Defensive player is played in the offensive role instead of a useless defender because he's "so good defensively" the only reason he put Song at the back tonight instead of Denilson is his height. He played CB/RB quite a lot early in the season and was SO freaking awful he's barely played back there except in an emergency. How he gets games I don't know.
Also again I'll say it for the people who refuse to listen. I've never once in any thread said Eboue was the best player in the world. We DO NOT HAVE A DM at the club, the next best thing in THIS SQUAD is Eboue. Denilson and Song have no pace, give the ball away constantly, are positionally horrible, tackle badly and constantly give away freekicks. They bring NOTHING to the game. Gilberto got 12 goals in his last real season with Arsenal and he was MILES better defensively.
Its this simple, in this squad he's our best option for that role, why? he's bigger, stronger, MUCH faster, a better tackler, has positional awareness of a defender and will also not constantly pass the ball backwards or sideways as just a bonus.
I've said repeatedly before the season started that we should be a real DM, if we had of done I WOULDN'T be asking Eboue to be played. How difficult is that to understand, he might not be the best in the world, but its better to play someone ok, than someone truly crap like Song. Also no, Song was awful at CB in this game and others, he made a red card tackle in midfield when he shouldn't have been there, completely left the back 4 line despite them coming forward. He was the deeper player who didn't step up with the other 4 when they broke late in the game and almost scored. He's slow, can't tackle wins few headers has no idea when to stand, steps up or stays back at the wrong times and can't smegging pass.
again, with the CURRENT squad eboue is easily the right choice for that position, because, we have no other capable defenders. If djourou wasn't so slow and clumsy we could try him there, but he is infact crap.
If you have arsenal tv online, go watch our preseason games, in about 4 of the Denilson starts off there, Eboue on the right and we're overrun defensively pretty easily, in those games Eboue was pushed to the middle for the 2nd half and each time we were HUGELY better, we held the ball got it forward quicker and actually broke up attacks.
Tonight a lets be honest, completely awful team strolled at will through our midfield, same happened in against Fulham, there was barely a tackle on Murphy all night long, Gilberto or Flamini, even Fabregas would never in a million years have let that happen. Neither would Eboue, Eboue put in more tackles and closed down their midfield players more than Diaby, Song or Denilson.
