I thought the suspension doesn't affect this game? Could definitely be wrong though.

Looking forward to tonight, love getting to see Wilshere and the other young players, they play very well together. However, I can see them losing by a fair margin unless Silvestre/Senderos have a stormer
 
I guess it depends on what his Red was for (It was a confrontation, so could have been violent conduct, the Villa guy got a yellow for some reason). He missed the game at the weekend, so it may have been a one game ban.

I missed the first 10 minutes of last nights game and could never really get into it after that (although maybe that would have been the case had I not missed the first 10 minutes anyway), glad we're through just a bit disappointed that Macheda didn't make the starting 11 and only came on, he looks like he's going to be a class act
 
Tonight needs to be a good defensive effort against City for us. With Hughes apparently playing his strongest team this will be a difficult match, I see Hughes doing something like that to possibly lift some pressure off his disappointing league results if he stifles a win.. Unfortunately for Adebarndoor, RVP isn't playing due to injury.

We can beat them, we just need to play very strong defensively and hit them on the counter, the kids should be able to run all evening and hopefully grab 1 or 2 goals.

Anyone watching the Salzburg vs Lazio match? Fouls and yellow cards gallore! :p

So, any Celtic fans in here? Big match for us tonight, if only to restore some pride. As for you Arsenal fans, give us Wilshere please! :D

I read an article yesterday saying that Celtic are interested and that Wenger might consider it for 6 months.

Would be great with Ki Sung-Yong and Wilshere in midfield. Two creative players with lots of talent.

Wilshere ripped Rangers apart in their friendly with you guys. I'd love to see him come to Celtic and do it again!

1-0 Salzburg. And yes, more yellow cards in the 2nd half!
 
:) Yeah he was on fire in that match and he doesn't play that much in the EPL yet so I think a bit of time in the SPL would help him develop physically. Win/Win, unless he got injured up there.

How many cards in the Salzburg match Sean? lol

Even though they aren't obliged to play a youth team I still think that Hughes isn't being very sportsmanlike with his team selection and it just seems a desperate attempt to get a win and to lift pressure.

Hopefully we can win but I'm not going to hold my breath. If we can at least compete and absorb the pressure they put on us from the wide positions then I'll be happy. If we get thrashed by 3 or 4 then I certainly will not be best pleased! :mad:
