Midweek Football Thread *spoilers*

Honestly thought we could take something there, over the 90 minutes we were dire but stepped up a gear after our goal. Larssons face cost us a point :(.

well chuffed i am as a blue nose :D 6th! level with spurs on 5th, shame were still below villa, cant have everything tho, have 2 wait another couple of weeks before we catch them :D

well. Gibson is still *****, good shot on him but i really don't see anything else. Poor game from Obertan as well, which is a shame. I actually found that a really annoying game to watch despite winning 3-0. Kind of game where i'd really hope we'd all click and really drive at wolves, didn't happen.

It's never going to happen but I still think we'd be astoundingly good if we had Fabregas.

Vidic apparently a major doubt for the weekend along with Wes definitely being out

I'm getting really fed up with these injuries now

I guess with Fabio being back on the bench tonight we'll see Fabio - Carrick - De Laet - Evra as the defence against Fulham

BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

No. You'll never be as good as us, simple as that. Hell, the closest you'll get to us in the league is when it restarts again with everyone on 0 points :)

I agree actually, the result was excellent but our play was really poor. Other than that lovely flick by Berbatov for the 3rd goal we were utterly terrible in the final 3rd. I thought Rooney, Obertan, Gibson and Valencia were all poor tonight and again we only started to put some good football together in the final half an hour.

On the bright side De Laet looked pretty competent at Right back and centre back, put that together with an excellent performance at left back a few weeks ago and he is looking like a decent bargain buy!

Really enjoying Villa at the minute, a great squad that is performing very well, and I hope we can keep the momentum up this season unlike last year.

Edit: Is there a highlights show at all for the midweek games?

MOTD tomorrow I think, pretty sure I saw that advertised on saturday's show.

We did this last season, and I said the whole time to all the worried Arsenal fans that we'd blow up, and we did.

I just pray we don't do the same again. I'm not asking for Champions League, I just want us getting results we deserve and not throwing it away. At least we can't ***** away the Europa League this year.

Far byond "bargain" - it was only a few hundred k wasnt it, daylight robbery if you ask me hahaha (for once it was in Utd's favour).

Think Fletcher will be back in defence against Fulham - rather than risk Da Silva (who is not a great defender as yet). Fulham can be dangerous on their day and being away also it could even be a worse result than Villa a few days ago (hopefully Berba wakes up for once - he is getting on my nerves now)

You can't have him ;). It's all swings and roundabouts anyways, Arsenal would have been wicked with Ronaldo, Essien or Torres. Every team has a player you'd just love to have in your squad.

Villa are looking good again this year, playing pretty much identical to the way they did last year at this time. Lots of discipline and organisation when the other team have the ball and then plenty of pace and will to go forwards when they get the ball. It's an effective game plan and pretty much won Ferguson the title for a few years. If you can master counter attacking football then it makes you extremely difficult to beat.

You'd think they'd have learnt a thing or two from last year and maybe have what it takes to break into the CL places this year. When they're playing well they're a good team to watch as their team work can be excellent
