I think he knew perfectly well what the assumption would be. He only revealed when he got called out on his bs.

I don't think someone trying to mislead would admit it. Would be very easy to carry on lying.

You really think contacting people in Turkey isn't easy?

Wow  cant be good.

could be good actually...

the current President has been too Islamic, too authoritarian... made plenty of enemys - if they're genuinely 'restoring democratic order' and getting rid of the current numpty then, though a bit dodgy it could be a good thing... so long as democracy is restored swiftly and new elections held

A coup overthrowing an elected government never restores democratic order. It is an oxymoron.

All people circumventing democracy claim to be doing it on some kind of populism. In reality it is all about getting it your own way, getting power for yourself.

No. The world would view it as choosing democracy when it suits us.

I think the US will come out with harsh words.

perhaps... they'll generally have to condemn this sort of stuff - however if it is swiftly dealt with and the new regime clearly lays a path to new elections etc.. then much much less of an issue

Panting like a fiend
Islam and it's inherent problems with the knuckle dragging side of its followers is beyond tedious to those over here. Especially when it's only the non knuckle dragging Islam followers can do something about but can't be bothered to.

Who do you think are actually doing much of (most of) the fighting against the likes of ISIS?
Who do you think are the biggest victims of ISIS? (in numbers)

It's other Muslims.

The problem is pretty much the same as every terrorist and criminal group in history, it's damned hard to tell someone who is a terrorist/criminal apart from the hundreds of civilians they're hiding amongst most of the time when they're not in control.

Unless you've got mind readers or cameras watching everyone all the time you don't know what is going on in someones house (in the same way you may not realise that your neighbour is really a serial killer, or a spy for Russia)

Military coups in Egypt have been used to restore some sort of democracy in the past.
