Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

Thanks for that link James.

15 quid stings a bit but Im finding it strangely fun. Gonna play it properly when I get the time. Just made a workbench and pick etc. Makes things a lot easier.

£15 yes, tis a lot for some people (like me at the moment) but seriously, even though im not playing at the moment...its well worth it over what? 4/5 pints? ;)

It gives you a lot more fun and lasts a lot longer too. Some of the best money I've spent in gaming.

anyone else notice how much ram it's using now?
showing as approx 1GB of ram on my system?!?!?!

It has always been like that for me. The more of the game world that loads the more mem usage. 900MB to 1GB is the usual for me. It doesn't get much higher than 1.2 as it crashes long before it gets much higher :p

Its bloody great this game actually, I have no idea how its good, i mean, it looks pants, but it works a treat :D

It just goes to show gameplay > graphics. And in this case the gameplay is essentialy Lego, and everyone loves lego :D

they only spawn in open water iirc.
would be epic if you could move them
I had a few ideas last night for items
eg Dive Bell/Helmet
made out of glass like a normal helmet etc but lets you work underwater without running out of air!

That would be awesome, but i'm pretty sure they do spawn in tanks because i saw some vids on youtube, perhaps they only spawn beneath sea level...

Anyone mind giving me a lowdown of what exactly is the point to this game?

Must be a reason, is there a story? The crafting side of things, is there a point? Are there quests... Just a load of info would be good on what people do when they play.

I am slowly being sucked into this and god knows how!

No story no true point or end goal, just lots of fun :P

There is no point to the game.
You make your own story and do what you like. :D

Online, I guess there is more of a point, if you have a certain amount of people all working on one project or towards one goal, etc...

Yea but... but... whyyyy, what can you craft, why would you craft? is the games crafting mechanics deep?

So confused by it all lol.
