Are you seriously trying to imply that men are under as much pressure as women over image?

Excuse me a sec..

*hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha*

Actually its quite serious. BDC is not just found in women, there are plenty of men out there, in the gym and on the street doing what they can to be what a woman wants (in terms of body), and, just like women and fat loss pills, there is a significant increase in the amount of young males who are turning to steroids, just to gain the look they want.

I think some people need reminding that this isn't a bravery contest, self-confidence contest, look-just-like-your-average-woman contest, role model contest.

Do grow up. Whilst talking percentages is a rather moot thing to do, men are obviously under less pressure then women when it comes to image.

This does not remove the hypocrisy from Phoebs post.
Gorw up? I genuinely laughed when you implied men are under as much pressure.

Very much so..

tl;dr

Conclusion: you're fat :p

Size 10 - 12? I would post a picture but you're not worth the time or bother.

Out of curiosity though... Do you know... by any chance... how seriously screwy with peoples heads that can be? Just those words alone. "you're fat". Even if it's by someone who that person doesn't actually giving a flying monkeys about? Even if it's said to a person who is incredibly skinny?

Probably not.

I think the media should share a MASSIVE portion of the blame too dont you think ?

Yup, I agree. But then who makes the media? :)

Sadly, we do. We buy it, we love it, we dwell on it.

The power they hold is phenomenal and frankly quite overwhelming.

For me, however, the media doesn't bother me. I work with a lot of material which requires me to see a lot of VERY attractive women.

Doesn't bother me.

Magazine articles, films, tv shows etc with attractive women in it.

Doesn't bother me.

Mindless slating of a girl who no one knows anything about...

... that bothers me and no doubt has a domino affect on many other women out there.

I know of that condition, I was referring to the amount of pressure from everyday life - such as magazines/papers, shops/advertisements and even just other people - e.g. a night out for an average man, bang on a shirt and trousers and some gloop in your hair. Job done. Not exactly the same for a woman's routine.

I cant be bothered to explain to be honest I just did. Read her post again its clear its a sensitive subject to her.
Then don't criticise me please.

It is clear it's a sensitive subject, which is why she'd have gotten a lot more of a positive response if she'd bothered to post in a well thought out manner, having had such a personal experience of it rather then a bland emotional one.

Clearly not. Was a very immature, senseless post. I have been with girlfriends still effected by bullies at school over 10 years ago for just small things that were said to them.

Its very sad. :(

Well I will because you were harsh and I stand by that.

Its not for you to say how someone should or should not post is it ?

Oh wow, I actually just read the article and this quote is just awesome.

"Do I have fat days? Of course, but what woman doesn't!"

LOL but you really are fat :p
