Monaco Grand Prix 2010, Monte Carlo - Race 6/19

Surely though, other teams will also be bringing upgraded vehicles to Turkey. RedBull will bring an upgrade, but the other teams are not sitting on their laurels.

I'm sure most teams will have big upgrades at some point between Turkey and Germany, but even a BIG update would only put them up with Red Bulls current pace, I don't see even McLaren or Ferrari being able to compete on qualifying pace, it's only the drivers racecraft that could grab them victories.

Hmm..

Lights were off on the safety car
Safety car was in the pit lane.
No safety car deployed signs being shown by the stewards
Green flags and lights at the safety car line and beyond.
Track clear messages from race control
Shumacher was behind Alonso when Alonso crossed the safety car line

Race was on. Schumachers move was valid.

Seems that way to me too. Payback for Alonso's pit lane move on Massa a few races ago.

If the green lights/flags and track clear messages weren't shown - then it'd be a problem. But as it is - I can't see a problem.

Alonso going sideways too shows that he was going for it - why bother if there was no overtaking allowed and you could just cruise to the line?

Absolutely. I'm sure Ferrari will try and argue otherwise (they'd be mad not to), but it seems to me like it was just the most perfect piece of opportunistic driving. Shades of that move Rubens put on Jarno Trulli in France back in '04 right at the end of the final lap.
