Monaco Grand Prix 2010, Monte Carlo - Race 6/19

Hmm..

Lights were off on the safety car
Safety car was in the pit lane.
No safety car deployed signs being shown by the stewards
Green flags and lights at the safety car line and beyond.
Track clear messages from race control
Shumacher was behind Alonso when Alonso crossed the safety car line

Race was on. Schumachers move was valid.

From the in car footage, under the 2nd flashing green light MS passed, I though I saw a marshal waving yellow flags? What happens if the flags do one thing and the lights another?

The last time a race finished under the safety car was Australia 2009 - just checked my DVD of it and when they crossed the line the SC boards and yellow flags were still being shown. No so here.

Actually an enjoyable race. With all the incidents / crashes, it was great to watch.

I loved Di Grassi fending off Alonso, shame he made the mistake in the tunnel or else it could have got a lot more interesting. Full credit to Heikki to get the car slowed down on the inside and plough into the side of Alonso.

Regards the move at the end, Schumacher shouldn't really have anything to worry about. From the evidence of the safety car line, green lights and flags he did it all above board. Not sure about the rule though (40 point something) about not overtaking on the final lap or what ever it is.

Anyway, faultless drive again from the Red Bulls. More so on Webber's part. Started from a stunning pole lap into a brilliant world class drive out front.

Credit to the Force India's. Both finishing in the points. Seems that they do have mechanical grip along with the straight line grunt from the Mercedes engine.

Finally, I love the new points system for this season. It has shaken it up nicely.

What's EJ done. needs to get a better chair!

Don't think Coulthard likes Jordan much, I reckon he thinks he's a bit of a pratt.
I also think coulthard is dull dull dull :D
And I was worried jake would drop that iPad at any moment.

So what happens at the end of the championship if say there were joint leaders like webber and vettel are today, do they give it to whoever won the most races?

Dull race. Shame Kubica messed up his start, would've liked to see him 2nd.

The way he has driven all weekend I agree. Although it was his own start to mess up, so I suppose he deserved what he got. More so than Hamilton last week who had done everything right to split the RBs and then get a puncture right at the end.

Both Williams had mechanical failures causing the accidents apparently.

Still investigating Barrichello, had a failure at the rear of the car. Hulkenberg's was caused by a failure of a front wing upright.

Pathetic, even Alonso thought it was race time, or he wouldnt have nearly lost the back end coming out of the corner! They were ALL going for it.

It's official...and I'm kinda amazed.

20 second penalty for Schumacher instead of a drive through. Out of the points in 13th.

Thats horse **** tbh. As much as I'd love Alonso to have held him off and as much as I would like to see MS reamed with a 1 inch drill bit that was a fabulous bit of the best of MS. Concentration until the end with his brain always ready to react.

Dumb penalty when I doubt Alonso knew the ruling was different either.
