Monaco Grand Prix 2015, Monte Carlo - Race 6/19

Nico would never go for that, and I'd hope the fans wouldn't want that either.
That would just be making it worse, like Schumacher trying to engineer a dead heat in the US.
They messed up, don't **** around further to try and make things right. Just don't do it again.

Probably right, merc do seem an honest team so why I had that thought.

But it's both extremes here, you get those who hate, and those who'll defend every decision to the death, hating on everyone else.
It's just the way of an internet message board.

You mean infantile? That a certain amount find glory to rub it in…

Lewis was robbed but I have to say he handled it really well, especially Brundle trolling him at the end which was very awkward and unnecessary.

I just can't understand the logic in the decision at all, they got times wrong apparently but clearly it was going to be close either way so it makes no sense to take the risk.

You are massively missing the point. If it's all about the fastest car and overtaking then go watch the Indy 500. Take away the history and the glamour and the atmosphere and Monaco is still a special one-off challenge for the drivers.

I will go to a race there one year, if only to be a couple of feet away from an F1 car grazing the barrier of a city street on full attack.

How am I missing the point? The point is that it's supposed to be a race yet Monaco is virtually impossible to overtake which is why grid postion is everything. I really couldn't care less about the history, glamour and all that rubbish. I want to see a race not a procession. If I wanted to see a procession I would walk down the village and watch the traffic going through the roadworks we have at the moment. I am far from the only person on here that doesn't believe that Monaco should be on the calendar.

You're still missing the point. I couldn't care less about the "history, glamour and all that rubbish" either.

Our opinions differ, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Well done rosburg, bad luck hamilton, congratulations to jb. Shock horror, humans are still making poor calls, including hamilton as, from what I understood he was saying, was part of the decision process to change tyres. It happens, its f1, move on...

Without getting slowed by the SC Ham would have been out in time easily. When the SC picked him up as the leader he was limited and his gap got smaller.

Right, no ******* way am I going to get into the ins and outs and rights and wrongs and stupidities of the Merc-Hamilton pit call. That way lies madness and deeply uninteresting arguments. Instead, I'll just sit here and be happy about the following:

1) Points for JB, richly deserved.
2) Max Verstappen is okay. That was a pretty reasonable shunt. His driving was damned good today, it's a shame his race ended the way it did.
3) Sainz had a great result. Didn't look remotely likely at the start.
4) Braindead Moron MkII™'s day was first to end. I'd wish for his miserable run to continue, but that would mean his F1 career would continue.

Monaco is important for F1 to continue, whether its deals behind the scenes, the sponsors, and everything about it - whinging about it wont change anything

The issue as much as anything is the cars and the fact the drivers are so much within their limits that a confined /tricky race like Monaco isn't that difficult any more. Make the cars trickier, more on edge and suddenly Monaco (and a lot of other tracks) will become more interesting again

edit Really happy JB got his and McLaren's first points today, otherwise it was a bit meh (inspite of the Mercedes **** up)
