Great to see kimi on pole. Shame about Hamilton though and I feel it's going to be a race like Baku last year for him. I think he heats his rears up to quick compared to bottas that's why he has grip problems and bottas doesn't as much.

I doubt Ferrari will ask Kimi to move but they probably hope Seb gets ahead of him at the start then they can use Kimi like Merc used Bottas in Spain....Maybe Lewis will find the car a bit better with the fuel in and could probably haul himself back into decent points.

Don't they want heat in their tyres?

Get palmer out of that car! Another poor performance.
Bottas and Kimi did well.
Wonder what happened to him.

Absolutely not watching the race live when the weather is so nice. I'll skip through the rerun.

They should just do two qualifications on Saturday and another on Sunday

It is a shame for Renault as they have improved this year and Hulk has already scored some decent points for them. Palmer is just notably rubbish in comparison.

if they had a decent second driver they might have been able to compete properly with, or even beat the likes of Williams and Toro Rosso but i think they are going to struggle with only Hulk pulling in the points.

Yeah it's a shame. It's never good when you only have one decent driver. Renault have had this many times

Parc ferme though no? I thought they couldn't work on the cars overnight

They're allowed to do safety work, aren't they?

They're allowed to inspect the car for damage and with the FIAs permission replace any damaged or broken parts with identical ones but just non broken.

If they find something serious then its an application to the stewards to permission to change those parts.

FIA used to have a document on their site after the race that showed what each car had replaced in parc ferme. Was quite interesting, especially if the car had been in a smack. Went on for pages.

Palmer is consistently bad, consistently moans, and always blames the car. People on this forum were saying "well he normally takes a season to settle down," and the commentators regularly defend him, but he just doesn't look ready/good enough to me.

The Ferraris look so well hooked up around here, they've definitely got the better car than Mercedes I think this year. It's going to be a 5th world title for Sebby.

Track temp was high yesterday, which really hurt Lewis. Do we have any info about what it's like today?

Realistically, if I were Lewis I'd just dive in the pits on lap 2 and change to the other mandated set then run long.

Anyone notice micro shutter?

I'm via NowTV app on Google Chromecast. I don't know if it's the low FPS feed or the Chromecast graphic hardware can't handle the feed well?

Just as hot - 26 degrees air.

I don't know if that will work for Hamilton - his best chance might just to be a safety car and try to manage around that.
