Monzo/Starling Banking/Revolut

what;s the best for using abroad?

revolut? monzo? starling?

or halifax clarity still?

They all work pretty much the same way, except the Halifax Clarity is a credit card whereas the others are prepay/current accounts, so you need the funds up front.
I personally prefer Revolut, but have accounts with Monzo and Starling as well just because....

I have revolut free version and it has rather small limits on atm withdrawals.

So was wondering if there was a free alternative that is better.

I also have clarity card. Which doesn't have any limits

I have premium so can withdraw up to €400 per day but...why do you need to withdraw so much cash per day? Why not just use the card instead?

It's £400 a month mate on premium not day.

Some places/people only accept cash or if you want to buy something on the fly or gift money, etc.

I think the limit is like £200 a month on free which is nothing.

two cards is more than enough for most hollidays. that's £400 or equivalent in cash, and as many purchases as you want.
or just get Halifax clarity.

Starling is 3 withdrawals a day up to £300 per day.

Though I've had to re-order the card with them as it still hasn't arrived over a week after they said it was sent out.

I've got both a Starling and a Monzo account, actually use the Starling account as my primary bank for my salary. Had some issues on Starling and Monzo but customer service has always been on point and sorted issues quickly, and even got some chocolate sent in the post from Starling when I had a big issue with the app after changing my phone number. Also nice to see Starling now support all the contactless payment methods, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Fitbit Pay

Think I'll just stick with clarity card.

All these new ones are nowhere near as good
We have a Nationwide credit card with free foreign transactions and a Metro account with free cash withdrawals in Europe. Can't see any reason to faff with these prepaid card sort of things.

I've been using Starling now for around 3 weeks in Leipzig, Germany. I have to say overall i'm very impressed and there have only been a couple of niggles so far. I think it's been covered already but the card will not work at every cash machine. I think because it's essentially a Mastercard the machine must have the abilty to draw cash out of a credit card, or something, because at Deutsche Bank it work fine but at Sparkesse (which are EVERYWHERE) it doesn't work. This has resulted in a number of hours lost, over the course of the three weeks, spent wandering to find a machine that it will work with. I think it wouldn't be as much of a problem everywhere, but with Sparkesse having cornered the cash machine market in Leipzig it's a bit of a ballache at times. Otherwise i'm really pleased with it :)
