Most arrogant profession?

priest, imams

are so arrogant always telling you about God and how they know the absolute truth.

Jehova witnesses are the worst, they are so arrogant they even knock on your door.

I can think of three..groups of professions that spring to mind, and i am generalising a bit.

Any sort of profession that revolves around being in Business with the immaculate suit and tie mould.

People like that just seem to reflect a state of smugness and arrogance, or it could just be me watching The Apprentice/Dragons Den to much :p.

Teachers - Maybe it's their attempt to keep control, but I've had a fair few that just give off an aura of superiority and condescension in my opinion. Doesn't exactly install trust.

Scientific/Medical - You will get people in this type of field who seem to be a cross between a human encyclopedia and the microsoft paperclip.

'No but actually that's wrong..it should be...'
'Well you see...'

I'd also say any type of creative profession (Music/Art etc) has it's fair number of arrogant people. Criticism and judgemnt in these professions go hand in hand, but you get those that seem to take it a little to far.

Have to agree with the doctor's receptionist.

"Hello, I'd like to make an appointment"
"why."
"my 3 month old has been sick all night in agony"
"Ok, I think you should see the nurse"
"I don't want to see the nurse. She can't prescribe medication"
"10:30?"
"Anything sooner?"
"9:00?"
"Thanks"

A genuine conversation.

Pharmacists

Why does a bottle of antibiotics take 15-20 minutes to sort out if you are the only person waiting?

So true, what's so difficult about sticking a label on a box?

In other countries there is so little regulation you don't even need a prescription for stuff.

Many of the 'arrogant profession people'; if they were to be placed in a different profession, they will totally bum at it ;)

Say, place city bankers in a manufacturing environment and they will be a laughing stock :D

Actually manufacturing profession is one which I highly value and respect. The art of manufacturing and skill required for shaping products etc is unique among professions.

Probably because they are making ups medications for care homes, nursing homes and people at home.

Common sense would dictate taking care of the people at the pharmacy first. Some old biddy can wait another 10mins while watching deal or no deal however having to wait for ages at the pharmacy is clearly far more of an inconvience. Especially considering that those at home will be having their stuff delivered in advance whereas the people at the pharmacy will have just been prescribed antibiotics they urgently need.

Anaesthetists > Surgeons > Lawyers

On the plus side, being in a meeting with a group of the first two can be hilariously entertaining once the ego battles start.

e : just read the thread properly and got a genuine LOL at whoever said 'IT people'. I mean really, what on earth have they got to be arrogant about? That their server is bigger than mine? Geez.

That isn't how it works, regardless of what you think.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Not everything needs pills.

IT
Managers in everything
Salesleeches
Lawyers
Doctors
Haircutists
Trapeeze artists
Engineers (non-proper installers/techs/mechanics)
Engineers (proper and old especially)

Met plenty.

Lawyers probably have it for me, but they are sdoing well, earning loads and enjoying it. Good for them!

This, i sat next to one on the train home yesterday, him reading the Standard, he folded the page so he wouldn't see a photo of Rihanna, like you can't handle seeing a picture of a mildly attracive woman?
