MOTO GP 2011

Stacey had his water wings on for that one for sure, Edwards for me was the man though...i know it was wet but he got on the podium what, 8 days after breaking his collarbone in to many pieces. Gutted for Cal though...

I don't get it, you're poking fun at a rider in the same way others at a recent bike meet did the same. They are attacking the rider, not the background. Either way I never attacked the rider for his name :)

Poking fun?, recent bike meet?, and no, you didn't attack a riders name...you just slagged off every Italian ever born tbh dude...
:)

Casey rode very well but I agree, Edwards was the man of the race. How's the boy Smith being treated. He looks so young. Big things to be expected from this kid?

I did NOT **** anyone off, merely explain what others have said :)

We cannot allow this to go back into negative territory.

Its not negative territory mate, i myself would just like you once and for all, to give a straight answer and explain why calling an Italian rider a 'Cheating Greaser' is not slagging anyone off. And then you can go back to all the other posts you choose to ignore when it suits you...
:)

Just got back from Silverstone. In all fairness it was a disappointing race, after Lorenzo and Simoncelli came off there was no one to catch up to Stoner and Dovizioso. Edwards was miles back and a fair bit in front of fourth place.

And so much for Hayden and Rossi's ducati's performing better in the wet. Neither did well.

You're trying to draw something out negative. It won't work :)

I've met other motoGP fans where other riders were given derogatory names aimed at the rider, not a race. Whether it was a ride day at a club, swap meet, race, track day or even a pub.

I have never slagged anyone off as I don't wish to stoop to a low level. What I said was that others have given riders nicknames too, as such, I don't participate in making fun of someone because of their name.

As above, i would like a straight answer from you instead of all your fluffing mate, its not negative, its a discussion, its what forums are about :). So, explain why you think Rossi is a 'Cheating Greaser' then, back up your comment...

As above I have explained myself with a straight answer rather than trying to bait or troll on. I never called Rossi a cheating greaser but said it's a common insult which was thrown about by others (which I have heard, first hand). This is what I was trying to explain and mention that the insult is there, just not as common as others. If I had to take a guess at where the term came from it might have been about a few incidents he's had in his career which have been quite controversial, some even dating back prior to riding in the top class.

I can't say whether I agree with the nickname as I don't participate in name calling cause I find it petty. All I just wanted to say is there are names which exist for everyone that are thrown about and just because you're not familiar with them, or they aren't found on google doesn't make it non existant, rather unknown to more of the masses.

In short
I've only echoed your thoughts about riders nicknames, "Stacey Moaner", "Ben Pies" etc are common nicknames, there are a few about Rossi too, although not as common. I just wanted to explain that they exist and while they may exist and have been thrown around in front of me, I don't wish to to bag a rider out (even if it is for fun or just banter) for their name.

Is that satisfactory enough for you, can we move on now or do you want to continue down the same path which may get the topic closed

I'm not surprised you're confused. I didn't call him a cheating greaser, merely say what was said around me so you could know. I had a feeling you would try and put words in my mouth or take things out of context but it's failed. See, as said earlier, I never called him a cheat, I was only trying to tell you what others had said. These aren't reflective of my beliefs as stated numerous times.

Just for your reference

I am not calling him a "cheating greaser", rather telling you there are insults which I have heard others use, one of them being, "cheating greaser". I'm not surprised you're confused. I'd offer you some help but it might be beyond me.

*** EDIT ***

I was wondering when you quoted me why you choose to conveniently leave some key information out.

Part of the original quote was

There are nicknames for Rossi too, "the cheating greaser" which I never call him by.

^ What this means is whilst nicknames are existant, I don't participate in bagging out riders with petty nicknames. If you think I have, you're mistaken and genuinely confused (no surprise there). In the future though I hope when quoting, you will quote the whole context rather than editing important bits out to further your cause. Makes you look worse rather than the person you're trying to drag mud on :)

Whats failed mate???

Your attempt to take what I have said out of context whether accidental or not.

That would be the bit you edited out of your original post as soon as you made it then yeah?

You quoted my post. In any case I sometimes re-edit the post because I fear you may draw the wrong conclusion or context. I hope in the future you will not take what I say out of context. I kind of feel as if you're looking for any negative to sling mud on me.

I'll try to be as concise and clear as I can be just so I don't confuse you and give you a headche (seems to be very easy to do so).

Hopefully now we can move forward to the next race, peace.

EDIT: Glad to now Spies is okay (so many twisted bikes).

All i can assume from your posts mate is that you seem to hate anyone who doesn't love Stacey Moaner, and wish to **** off Valentino Rossi in any way you can?. This is life mate, be it bikes, cars, football, etc...you may not find people who agree with you when its sports related...
:)

You're wrong again. I don't mind if people dislike Casey I wsa just appauled by everyone bagging out riders for their name. I am not a fan of Rossi becaue of his actions (mainly the Gibernau incident). I understand people will always disagree, this is why I suppose we should agree to disagree and move on. So what say you :)

Happy too mate, but he'll always be called Stacey on here regardless i think. And when Stacey has '10' world titles under his belt, maybe we'll call him the goat...and not Stacey. As you say, its just banter after all...

If he joins the forum, I'll call him by his real name.

But until then I will use Stacey. Might even throw a few on that I hear at the pub or at the track. Only ones I've heard of course, I wouldn't use them myself.
