Was that the co-driver, or the driver taking the legal action?

If it's the co-driver, he's a muppet. If it's the driver, he's a moronic driver and a muppet.
Co-driver I think

We were also happy to present special awards to Sameer Gaur, Managing Director of J.P. Sports International Ltd. (Organiser and Promoter of F1 India GP 2012), Vivek Ponnusamy (FIA Asia Pacific 2-Wheel Drive Cup for Co-Drivers) and Jehan Daruvala (FIA CIK Asia Cup Karting Champion).
He got an FIA award for co-driving last year - http://www.fia.com/news/2012-fia-champions :D

Come on, his co-driving was awesome. It was obvious that the driver wasn't paying any attention to him.

"Sammi, please stay on the road", I'm how clear and concise is that?

Yeah, I don't think anyone should be questioning his co-driving, the video is funny because of his frustration towards the driver who is useless.

The problem with Japanese teams was that everything was so regimented and set in stone that any changes would be discussed and meetings would happen and people would always defer to their boss. If their boss wasn't an aerodynamicist they wouldn't try to explain why their idea would work if the boss said no, they would just accept it. F1 is a fast moving business where a small update can mean 0.1 of a second improvement. Over a race than can be four to five seconds. Races are won by less.

Yeah I watched BAR closely and at races the team was swamped with loads of Japanese guys crawling all over the car and team and to the outside world they looked like robots. Emotionless and going about their business without communicating with anyone else. It was very strange to watch.

It clearly didn't work.
Yep.

Great system for creating reliable, powerful F1 engines. Not for running the entire team.

But they didn't even do that, it was almost always down on power. Ran too hot or couldn't get enough heat. They did a terrible job, the biggest problem was joining BAR. I read a piece a few years back that prior to the 98 agreement they were close to joining Mclaren again and it upset Ron they went with Pollack. I doubt with Mclaren experience Honda would have failed so hard.

Hell the best Honda did was with Jordan and Mugen. They never got as close as that to a title again. SO they ditched Jordan and went with BAR. Epic fail.

IIRC Honda had quite a hands off management approach when they bought the team from BAR, and it wasn't until the big successes of 04/05 that they decided to get more involved from ~2006. And then it nose dived.

They had a more hands off approach because they didn't own the team, they stepped up involvement because at the end of 04 they bought 45% from BAT. It's only natural they would get more involved. Tbh richards needing removing anyway. It's unlikely Button would have ever won a title or stayed at the team had richards stayed.

Just can't see him going back there. Would be a good number 2 to Alonso if he accepted that though (not that he would).

It would make Ferrari favorites for the WCC next year. I don't know if they would do a 2007 McLaren and shoot themselves in the foot for the WDC though?

For me, I'm most excited to see who will be partnering Vettel at RB, I hope it's Alonso even more than Kimi - and DR third.

I'd LOVE to see what would happen to Vettel's mentality and the dynamics within the team if Alonso joined, in essence I just can't wait to find out how good Vettel really is. Mark's a top driver but he's not on the same level as Alonso. Fascinating if that came to fruition.

You mean the same Vettel who has openly said he would like to drive for Ferrari and would happily partner Alonso? And who would be joined in his team with a (possible) 4 WDC titles to his name by a mere double Champion? Yeah, I bet he's quaking in his boots...

Heads up: good afternoon of motor racing on MotorsTV today...

4pm: Grand-Am @ Kansas
7pm: British GT @ Brands
8pm: FIA GT @ Slovakiaring

That's my afternoon and evening sorted. Now to cook the roast :D

Glad for Ricciardo if that's the case... Can't help but feel it's the 'safe' option though, would have liked to have seen some fireworks :p

Will be good to see if he can take the fight to Vettel.

Big risk for Riciardo. Red Bull are not shy about dropping drivers who under perform, and its going to be very easy to look very average against Vettel.

But its an epic opportunity for him. I hope he does well. Unfortunately he is in that group of 'friendly and likable' F1 drivers, which means he won't be fast :p
