Could be wrong but isn't there a regulation that prevents F1 broadcasters investing in the sport (and visa versa)? Sure i remember reading about something in the past where News Corp attempted to get 'involved' but it would mean that they could bid for broadcasting.
Put like that, then the Sky/BBC sharing deal is easily the lesser of two evils.So now that Sky is broadcasting F1, it can no longer buy a share in the commercial rights.
